Under the agreement, the city would to rezone a parcel of land along Howard Street to the corner of St. Peter’s, allowing the bookstore, currently located in the Northeast Neighborhood just south of campus, to build a new facility on the property. The deal is facing opposition from the members of the Northeast Neighborhood Association, who are worried that their residential area could be­ come infested with commercial establishments, according to Art Quigley, director of the as­ sociation.
