    -Newsflash- 30/11/2010 KONINKLIJKE BELGISCHE WIELRIJDERSBOND belgiancycling.be EK PISTE ELITE PRUSZKÓW De allereerste Europese Kampioenschappen Piste voor Elite (5-7 november) in het Poolse Pruszków waren op sportief vlak van een hoogstaand niveau. Onze beloftevolle Belgische ploeg keerde niet met een handvol medailles naar huis, maar toonde wel dat ze op de goede weg is om de kloof met de elite beetje bij beetje verder te dichten. In de ploegenachtervolging zetten onze dames een puike prestatie neer. Jessie Daams, nog maar pas hersteld van een sleutelbeenbreuk die ze opliep tijdens het EK voor beloften in september, Jolien D’Hoore en Kelly Druyts eindigden op een knappe 5de plaats. De Europese kampioenen bij de beloften kwamen slechts minder dan een seconde te kort om zich te kwalificeren voor de strijd om het brons. Onze mannen daarentegen verging het heel wat slechter. Nicky Cocquyt, Moreno De Pauw, Ingmar De Poortere en Gijs Van Hoecke finishten in een erg matige tijd als voorlaatste en hielden daarmee enkel Tsjechië achter zich. Jolien D’Hoore en Gijs Van Hoecke stonden ook hun mannetje in het omnium. D’Hoore was na de eerste dag voorlopig 3de, maar door een mindere prestatie in de individuele achtervolging en de scratch eindigde ze uiteindelijk op een 5de plaats. Van Hoecke, die nog altijd maar 19 jaar is, won de scratch en werd in de eindstand 8ste. Op de slotdag veroverden Kenny De Ketele en Tim Mertens in de ploegkoers de zilveren medaille. Ze maakten de koers hard, maar moesten de Tsjechen Martin Blaha en Jiri Hochmann laten voorgaan.

Il s’agit d’une des rares concessions que votre revue en ligne fera à ce monde moderne ayant poussé le cyclisme dans des dérives semblables aux autres sports de haut niveau. Car soyons clairs ! Nous n’arrivons plus que difficilement à nous enthousiasmer pour un univers dans lequel (certains) athlètes et titans hyper médicalisés se confondent encore, l’internationalisation galopante provoque la perte de tout repère, l’omnipotence de quelques multinationales (combinée au manque d’imagination de certains organisateurs) ne laisse plus place qu’à des scénarios prévisibles, et les écouteurs téléguident autant qu’ils brident les champions robotisés. Non… Ce n’est vraiment pas une telle pitance que CDP souhaite servir à ses lecteurs avisés. Notre objectif est tout autre : montrer par notre humble présence sur la toile qu’un tout autre cyclisme peut exister (et a existé !) tout en étant davantage digne d’intérêt ! Bij de profs lijkt het na de crossen in de drukke eindejaarsperiode op het eerste gezicht uit te draaien op een titanenduel tussen Sven Nys en Niels Albert. Al zouden een sterke Tom Meeusen of Kevin Pauwels wel eens roet in het eten kunnen gooien. Met Bart Aernouts, die zich vorig weekend nog grieperig voelde, en Bart Wellens, die afgelopen weekend in Tervuren nog ten val kwam, erbij tekenen in elk geval alle toppers present.
