With the May 10 release of the debut studio album, Space Between (BMG), the band has produced a collection of original new material which harnesses the depth of their artistic experiences and seminal collaborative sound with Hagar's prolific writing vein to produce an album that builds and explodes, song after song, around the concepts of money, greed, enlightenment and truth. Hagar explained about the album, "The 10 songs on the 'Space Between' are not just a bunch of new songs grouped together on an album. They were sewn together conceptually for a complete mental, emotional and physical experience (kind of a Three Lock Box). Inspiration is a beautiful thing and making this album is living proof that when the fire of creativity strikes, the songwriting process doesn’t have to be painful or a struggle. Once I had the overall vision, the lyrics and music began to just flow through me and the songs unfolded like chapters in a book.” On tour, the critically-acclaimed supergroup takes fans on a musical journey through rock history, with a set list spanning four decades of Hagar’s hits from MONTROSE, his solo career, and beyond — and with Bonham on board, they also tear into a few LED ZEPPELIN classics — thrilling audiences and critics alike with their live concerts. The music draws on the bands' substantial careers independently and collaboratively; presenting a veteran band still at the peak of their game. Andy Cohen rants against de Blasio and mayor’s dance during New Year’s Eve show: ‘Do something with this city!’ The co-host of CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” show started 2021 by going on a boozed-up rant against Mayor de Blasio, dissing Hizzoner’s dance with his wife and begging for him to “do something with this city.” The Times Square tirade was sparked after the cable network showed a clip of the masked-up mayor and New York City’s first lady dancing after the ball drop. At about 12 minutes after midnight, “New Year’s Eve Live” co-host Anderson Cooper declared, “And 2020 is gone. It’s done.” Cohen agreed about the pandemic-plagued year: “And 2020 is freakin’ gone. We flushed it down the toilet like the fecal mess that it was.” The pair, in certainly not the first time they’d done this Thursday night, then picked up shot glasses and clinked them before downing what was inside. “I’m glad I brought two bottles of this,” Cohen said of whatever beverage they were drinking. © Provided by New York Daily News Mayor de Blasio and Chirlane McCray dance onstage in Times Square during 2021 New Year’s Eve celebrations in New York City. (Gary Hershorn/) Cooper, seemingly disgusting by what he just drank, then said, “Oh, my God,” while making faces and gagging noises and flailing around. “Alright, alright,” Cohen said. “That’s how I felt when I saw Mayor de Blasio dancing just now. I just don’t need to see that at the beginning of 2021.” Cohen then looked around Times Square — which wasn’t packed with the usual crowds thanks to the pandemic and rules against large gatherings — threw his hands up in the air and yelled, “Do something with this city! Honestly, get it together!” Cooper looked on, giggling, simply adding, “God. Goodness.” Cohen’s other antics throughout the night included jokingly asking Cooper to “do acid” with him after the show, and insisting his co-host wipe his nose. The longtime TV host and producer, who hosts Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” also had a mini-meltdown two years ago while doing “New Year’s Eve Live.” He wasn’t thrilled when the Times Square Alliance told him he had to ditch his umbrella while filming the special in the rain. “It’s more than drizzling in Times Square,” Cohen said at the time. “It’s not putting a damper on anything, but I will say this: I had this umbrella. The lady from the Times Square Alliance came over and said, ‘You have to get rid of the umbrella,’ off the air. And I said, ‘I won’t do it.’” Bradley Cooper Weighs In: Is Jennifer Lawrence The 'Worst Dancer Ever'? The quirky love story between Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in David O. Russell's next film, "Silver Linings Playbook," focuses on the sometimes funny, always heartfelt tale of two people looking for something. Eventually, they find each other, and ballroom dancing. It seems that dancing got very intimate for the twosome. When MTV News asked just how long Cooper spent up close and personal with Lawrence's crotch, he replied, "We did it like three times a week for like a month. God bless her, she put that crotch in my face. No, she worked so hard on that dance honestly. I didn't have the ability to because of the characters in the movie . And she rehearsed and killed it." Lawrence, however, was a bit more modest when it came to the enthusiasm around her skills on the dance floor. ""I am the worst dancer ever," Lawrence said. "No, I was supposed to suck after I already danced and sucked. It kind of explains why I move my body like a baby colt." "Silver Linings Playbook" recently got screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was met with positive reviews. Based on Matthew Quick's 2008 novel, the film follows the story of Cooper's Pat, who returns home after a long stint in a mental institution. When he comes back, he meets Lawrence's Tiffany, who is dealing with the loss of her husband. The film also stars Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles and Chris Tucker. It opens on November 21, just in time for awards-season buzz to kick into high gear. The Circle Dance by Jen Silver. But as far as the film's choreographer Mandy Moore is concerned, the two stars should be lauded for their dancing skills alone – especially in a scene where they had tone down their abilities to appear like struggling amateurs. "Probably the biggest challenge was the montage in the rehearsal studio," says Moore, who has served as choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance . "We actually shot that last. But we had to make it seem like they were just starting while getting better and better with each day and getting new moves." "After you have been working for six weeks, how do you make them look like it was their first day?" she asks. "It was a trip teaching someone to not look so good." The two stars truly were at the beginning dance stages when they began the romantic comedy featuring two mentally unstable people who find peace training for a prestigious dance competition. "Both of the guys had no training going into the film. That's a recipe for disaster especially if they are not game to do it," says Moore. "But on the first day, they jumped right in. When I showed them what the dance was on day one they both stood up and said, 'Okay, let's go.' " The two even mastered a difficult circle waltz used in the competition scene. "The footwork is so difficult. So we started working on that on the first day," says Moore. "They would be laughing hysterically, stepping on each others toes in rehearsals at first." But Moore was most impressed when director David O Russell decided the duo needed a Singin' in the Rain- type tap section in their routine. "Bradley and Jen were like, 'Wait, we're tapping now?'" Moore laughs. "If you have never tapped before, and they had not, then that's very difficult." In the end, the choreographer was blown away by the tap number. So was a surprised Cooper when the cameras stopped. "Afterwards, Bradley was like 'Come on, that was awesome!' " Moore recalls. "They deserve an award for best tap section by amateurs," Moore says. "It wasn't as finely tuned as The Artist. But they definitely deserve an award for giving it their best shot." Cooper and Lawrence play amateur dancers, so perfection was not needed. But Moore does believe the two could make it on So You Think You Can Dance . "It's going to take a little more rehearsal," says Moore. "But they are all heart. You watch them dance and you fall in love with them."
