Riverside Lawyer is published 11 times per year by the Riverside County Bar Association (RCBA) and is distributed to RCBA members, Riverside County judges and administrative officers of the court, community leaders and others interested in the advancement of law and justice. Advertising and announcements are due by the 6th day of the month preceding publications (e.g., October 6 for the November issue). Articles are due no later than 45 days preceding publication. All articles are subject to editing. RCBA members receive a subscription automatically. Annual subscriptions are $25.00 and single copies are $3.50. Submission of articles and photographs to Riverside Lawyer will be deemed to be authorization and license by the author to publish the material in Riverside Lawyer. The material printed in Riverside Lawyer does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the RCBA, the editorial staff, the Publication Committee, or other columnists. Independent research of all issues is strongly encouraged. 2 Riverside Lawyer, October 2005 I am glad that I was able to convince my husband, Phil, to go on a family vacation this summer to Los Cabos, Mexico. Phil and I, with our three children, along with fellow research attorney, Lisa Visingardi and her family, went to a beautiful resort. I must confess that I was a bit nervous about taking my children to Mexico – especially since my twins were only 22 months old at the time. My worries were for naught. I cannot say that our trip to Mexico was relaxing, with our two toddlers, but I can say that we had a wonderful time with family and friends. We were gone for a total of five days – I took only three days off from work; I think that everyone should be able to miss work for three days and enjoy some time with the family. In the summer of 1992, he was chosen by executives at Opryland USA to be a performer in the Nashville-based theme park's daily variety show entitled "Country Music USA," wherein Mr. Rich performed songs by country music superstars such as George Jones, Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Vince Gill; and WHEREAS, during his time at Opryland USA, Mr. Rich met fellow performer Dean Sams, who along with Mr. Rich and two other fellow Texans formed a band named Texassee.

    Matej Santi, Elias Berner (eds.) Music – Media – History Music and Sound Culture | Volume 44 Matej Santi studied violin and musicology. He obtained his PhD at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, focusing on central European history and cultural studies. Since 2017, he has been part of the “Telling Sounds Project” as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating the use of music and discourses about music in the media. Elias Berner studied musicology at the University of Vienna and has been resear- cher (pre-doc) for the “Telling Sounds Project” since 2017.     MusicRow Awards Final Nominations by Sarah Skates usicRow is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual awards show, and kicking off the voting period with today’s announcement of nominees. The MusicRow Awards, Nashville’s longest running music industry trade publication honors, will be hosted by ASCAP at the performing rights organization’s offices on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:30 p.m. The MusicRow Awards started in 1989 with a salute to the Top 10 Album All-Star Musicians, a category that Mcontinues today. The inaugural winners included Eddie Bayers for Drums, John Jarvis on Keyboards and Mark O’Conner for Miscellaneous Instruments. The magazine cover featured artists J.C. Crowley, Clint Black, Foster & Lloyd and Lorrie Morgan. Inside the issue was an interview with Joe Casey from CBS, and Bill Mayne and Bob Saporiti from Warner Bros. about methods of securing radio airplay. Robert K. Country programmers and sales staffs have been absolutely giddy in recent years as they’ve watched cumes for most Country radio stations double once Arbitron’s PPM becomes currency in a market and replaces the diary. (We’ll fight over TSL’s plunge from diary to PPM another time.) Prior to PPM’s arrival, no Country outlet had ever cracked the one million listener barrier. Only a handful of stations exceeded 500,000 cumers. Now this format boasts four or five stations at one million plus on a regular basis, with another handful posting audience levels in excess of 900,000. The exuberance is, of course, tempered by the fact that all of the other format cumes have ballooned as well. Proving that size does indeed matter, the top 23 cuming stations in America are in either New York or Los Angeles.     Jamey Johnson Jamey Johnson est né le 14 juillet 1975 et grandit à Enterprise, près de Montgomery en Alabama. Fils de Howard Johnson, Jamey est dans une famille modeste mais très mélomane. Comme beaucoup d'artistes country, Jamey a d'abord chanté du Gospel dans les églises. Dés son plus jeune âge, Jamey est influencé par des artistes tels que: Alabama et Alan Jackson, ce dernier étant le 1er artiste qu’il a vu en concert. Jamey Johnson apprend la musique; Il a été élevé dans une famille très croyante, mais il a passé une partie de sa jeunesse à boire de la bière et à jouer des chansons, la nuit sur la pierre tombale de Hank Williams à Montgomery. 1993: Après avoir obtenu son diplôme dans la ‘’Jefferson Davis High School’’, Jamey Johnson a fréquenté la ‘’Jacksonville State University’’, la même université dans laquelle Randy Owen, le chanteur du band Alabama a fait ses études.
