Box 1400, Hull, Quebec, Canada ABSTRACT: Geopetitia aspiculata sp. n. from Coerulea coerulea is described, figured, and compared with the other species of the genus. Additional specimens from various other exotic birds were examined in order to gain information on specific morphological characters available for the separation of those species presently assigned to the genus. It is concluded that the presence or absence of spicules, and if present their morphology, and the distribution pattern of the genital papillae in the male are the only two charac- ters so far described which are useful for species determination.
