Downsizing is still a Big Move by Ness of Keller Williams Integrity NW Thinking about downsizing but it seems overwhelming and don't know where to start... you are not alone everyone feels this way at one time or another. Here are just a few tips to get you started. 1 Get emotionally ready. Talk to friends about how they felt and how they overcame concerns and what helped them prepare. It's good to talk about it. and support one another. 2 Make a plan on a calendar starting with one room a week or a month, whatever your timeline looks like. Ask for help from family and friends. 3 With each room make a box of things you no longer want and wish to donate, another box of things you wish to give to family. Find joy in giving your treasures to that special person. Have them go through those items in a timely manner and donate the rest. Make sure to put it in your car and make a trip to where you wish to donate... better yet have a family member bring the items there. Keep in mind that you are downsizing and space is limited. 4 Most important ... don't stress. Set goals for yourself and ask for help. After you get started, I assure you will feel a sense of relief... less stuff! Kimbra will be presenting more downsizing information this spring. Keep an eye out for more details in the spring newsletter.

“Our World” by Ardis (Goslar) Schommer As I’m driving down the road by the St. Michael Catholic Church I’m thinking of the beauty of the red & gold trees along the road. I go this road everyday to go to the Senior Center. Such a lovely road with its many trees. Fall is my favorite time of the year. We are blessed with the changing of the season’s spring with the awaken of the trees, grass and flowers. The favorite of most people I’m sure. The brightness after a cold winter. But even winter has a beauty of its own. After a snow fall when everything is white it has a pure beauty all its own our wonderful world. After living in Texas for 6 years as much as I loved living there. I missed the changing of the seasons. Didn’t miss the snow as much but one Christmas Eve it snowed everyone was out all night as some had never seen snow. So children and adults were out playing in the snow. Our neighbors came home from church & told it was snowing. We went to church that evening felt like we were back in Minnesota. By noon Christmas day the snow was gone. There were no hard wood trees in Mission where we lived so no fall changing colors. Also a lot of plants that had to go dormant didn’t grow there. There were beautiful sunrise & sunsets. Still the blue sky that’s the same all over the world. The vastness of our world is overwhelming we are the caretakers of our world. Our world doing all we can to care for our little corner of it. We just continue to fill our landfills with bags of garbage. Gone our 55 gallon barrels that we burned our trash and what we couldn’t burn we took to the local dump ground where our children would go with Frank and shoot cans or bottles off posts with his 22 rifle. Our Miss Clean Rhonda, found 2 commode seats and covers Ah!! She thought just the thing for our outhouse, that she had helped me paint the inside of. She couldn’t wait to get home, clean them up and have Frank install them. Every wash day she would take the Rinse Water in her pail and scrub the outhouse Now with new seats she was in her glory. We dedicate this story to the family & friends of a fabulous lady we lost this year. Ardis you are missed.
