Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2021/22 Announcement Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2021 / 22 A N N O U N C E M E N T INTERNATIONAL SKATING UNION Revised June 24, 2021 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2021/22 1. GENERAL First and foremost, the following information is subject to a timely normalization of the coronavirus situation allowing the safe organization of the ISU Junior Grand Prix events this Autumn. The ISU is closely monitoring the respective developments in consultation with the organizing ISU Members and with the expectation and hope that the situation will be restored to normal as quickly as possible. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating events and Final will be subject to the local entry, travel and sanitary measures as well as subject to compliance with the ISU Guidelines for ISU Figure Skating Events during the Covid-19 pandemic (https://www.isu.org/inside-isu/covid-19) in place before and during the respective event. The ISU will inform ISU Members in case of any development or related decision. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating comprises seven (7) international Junior Figure Skating events and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. All seven events will be held with the approval and the assistance of the International Skating Union, under the responsibility of the organizing ISU Member concerned and in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 20211, the Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2021, the relevant ISU Communications and the „Memorandum for hosting an ISU Junior Grand Prix event” latest issue. Participation in the seven events and the Final of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is open to all Competitors who belong to an ISU Member, and qualify with regard to eligibility according to Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in Rule 108, paragraph 3. b) and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirements in Rule 109 and ISU Communication 2030 or any update of this Communication. Passports of the Skaters, as well as the ISU Clearance Certificate, if applicable, must be presented at the accreditation of each individual event and the Final for verification. All Competitors must be entered through their ISU Members. Skaters/Couples entered for an event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating may not participate in the same discipline of an event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (senior) in the same season. Only Skaters participating in different disciplines may enter into both the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the same season. This regulation does not reflect any participation at the ISU Championships or any other international competitions not included in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating or the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. The seven events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating are: 1st event August 18-21, 2021 Courchevel / FRA 2nd event August 25-28, 2021 Courchevel / FRA 3rd event (incl. Pair Skating) September 1-4, 2021 Kosice / SVK 4th event (incl. Pair Skating) September 15-18, 2021 Krasnoyarsk / RUS 5th event September 22-25, 2021 Ljubljana / SLO 6th event (incl. Pair Skating) Sept. 29 – Oct. 2, 2021 Gdansk / POL 7th event (incl. Pair Skating) October 6-9, 2021 Linz / AUT The combined ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (Juniors and Seniors) will be organized for the best Men, Ladies, Pairs and Ice Dance Couples in Osaka / JPN December 9 – 12, 2021 A point system for the seven events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating has been established to qualify the Skaters for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Points will be obtained according to the results in each of the seven events comprising the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating. According to the results of the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships*, ISU Members are entitled to enter Skaters in the seven events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating as shown in the annexes (see also paragraph 2 of this Announcement). No Skater (Lady, Man, Pair or Dance Couple) is allowed to participate in more than two events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, while each result will be taken into consideration for points (see paragraph 3). * As the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2021 were cancelled, results from the 2020 edition will be used. 1 The ISU Regulations 2021 will be published over the summer further to details indicated in Circular Letter no. 624. - 2 - ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2021/22 2. ENTRIES 2.1 Men and Ladies ISU Members are entitled to enter Competitors in the different events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Men and Ladies according to the following system (see annexed Tables A and B): a) 2 entries in 7 events: ISU Members placed one (1) to three (3) at the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* may enter two (2) Skaters in all seven (7) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. b) 1 entry in 7 events: ISU Members placed four (4) to six (6) at the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* are entitled to enter one (1) Skater in seven (7) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. c) 1 entry in 6 events: ISU Members placed seven (7) to ten (10) at the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* are entitled to enter one (1) Skater in six (6) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. d) 1 entry in 5 events: ISU Members with Skaters, who qualified for the Final Free Skating, but were not placed in the first ten (10) ISU Members of the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships*, may enter one (1) Skater in five (5) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. e) 1 entry in 4 events: ISU Members with Skaters, who placed 25 to 30 in the Short Program of the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships*, may enter one (1) Skater in four (4) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. f) 1 entry in 3 events: ISU Members with Skaters, who placed 31 and lower in the Short Program of the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* but participated in the category concerned, may enter one (1) Skater in three (3) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. g) 1 entry in 2 events: ISU Members, who have not participated in the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* in the category concerned, may enter one (1) Skater in two (2) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the category concerned. h) Organizing ISU Member: The Organizing ISU Member may enter in its event up to three (3) Men and three (3) Ladies. Additional Entries For Men and Ladies, if any ISU Member mentioned under a) to c) does not use its right to enter Skaters in the competition concerned, this entry will be given to the first ISU Member, mentioned under b) for an additional entry. If another ISU Member mentioned under a) to c) does not use its right to enter Skaters in the competition concerned, this entry will be given to the second ISU Member mentioned under b). If all ISU Members under b) receive the right of a second entry, all further places not used will not be considered for replacement. The order of priority as listed has to be observed. - 3 - ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2021/22 2.2 Pair Skating ISU Members are entitled to enter Competitors in the different events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Pair Skating according to the following system (see annexed Table C): a) 3 entries in 4 events: ISU Members placed one (1) to four (4) at the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* may enter three (3) Pairs in all four (4) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating hosting Pair Skating. b) 2 entries in 4 events: ISU Members with Skaters, who qualified for the Final Free Skating, but were not placed in the first four (4) ISU Members of the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships*, may enter two (2) Pairs in all four (4) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating hosting Pair Skating. c) 1 entry in 4 events: All other ISU Members not mentioned under a) and b) but participated in the previous ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships* in the Short Program are entitled to enter one Pair in all four (4) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating hosting Pair Skating. d) 1 entry in 3 events: All other ISU Members not mentioned under a) to c) are entitled to enter one Pair in three (3) events of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating hosting Pair Skating. f) Organizing ISU Member: For the Organizing ISU Member there is no limitation in the number of entries in its Pairs’ event.

It includes seven events and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The Series features some of the up and coming Skaters of the world and provides young skaters aged 13 to 19 (21 for the male Ice Dance and Pair Skating partners) with the opportunity to compete at a high international level. A points system based on the ranking has been established to determine the qualifiers for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Points are obtained according to the results in each of the seven events and only the top six Skaters / Couples in each discipline can qualify for the Final. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is financed by the ISU Development Program. Since 2011 all events of the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series are live streamed on the official ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating YouTube Channel .

The competition crowns U.S. champions in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dance at the senior and junior levels. The arena is the home to the Vegas Rollers of World Team Tennis since 2019, and plays host to concerts, sporting events and NCAA Tournaments.

    SKATE ONTARIO 2019/2020 ANNUAL REPORT SKATE ONTARIO WELCOME MESSAGE Lisa Alexander, Executive Director Karen Butcher, President The annual report is an opportunity to reflect on a season full of triumphs, development and of course, unexpected change and challenges. This skating season, unfortunately cut short, came with many accomplishments from Ontario skaters at all levels. Ontario skaters showed their pride and skated with TABLE OF CONTENTS heart at our Sectional Championships and again at the Skate Canada Challenge where they were the largest team. Ontario hosted the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships in January, bringing together athletes, coaches, volunteers and parents from across the country. It was a great display of collective hospitality and Welcome Message 3 fantastic results from Ontario athletes and volunteers. In addition to impressive international results, at the national level Ontario skaters were on the podium in every Clubs & Schools 4 - 5 event and won two Novice, two Junior and three Senior National titles. Skater Development 6 - 7 From a clubs and skating schools perspective, it is wonderful to see growth and hard work in all areas of the province. Thank you to the clubs for all of your engagement Coaches 8 - 9 and input with Assessment Days, Performance and Development Opportunities and participation in initiatives such as the STAR 6 - Gold Roadshow, Event Info Sessions Officials 10 - 11 and the CanSkate Excellence Program. Although it was disappointing the season ended early and new events like Bring ON the Fun! were cancelled, it was exciting to see how engaged everyone has been adapting to change. Your ideas, enthusiasm and energy have never been more important and appreciated as we navigate this new Synchronized Skating 12 - 13 reality.

    September 4, 2019 Lake Placid, USA Liu (USA) hits triple Axel and quad Lutz to make history at ISU Junior Grand Prix in Lake Placid Alysa Liu (USA) made history by becoming the first female skater to land a triple Axel and a quadruple jump in one program at the ISU Junior Grand Prix event in Lake Placid. Shun Sato (JPN) secured the second consecutive gold medal for the Japanese junior men on the circuit this year while the Russian pairs, led by Apollinariia Panfilova/Dmtiry Rylov, continued their dominance by sweeping the podium. Favorites Avonley Nguyen/Vadym Kolesnik (USA) struck gold in the Ice Dance event. The winners have made a big step on the Road to Torino towards the qualification for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. Liu (USA) makes history, scores runaway victory Liu easily dominated the Junior Ladies and scored a runaway victory with 208.10 over Yeonjeong Park (KOR/186.58 points) and Anastasia Tarakanova (RUS/179.29 points) to break the Russian stronghold on the discipline. The American is the first non-Russian Lady to win a Junior Grand Prix event since 2016. Liu and Park debuted on the ISU junior circuit while Tarakanova is a veteran and was in the Junior Grand Prix Final the past two seasons. Liu led following a clean Short Program. She opened her Free Skating to “Illumination” by Jennifer Thomas with a triple Axel-double toeloop and a quadruple Lutz – and is the first woman two perform a triple Axel and a quad in one program. The 14-year-old followed up with six more triples, but she missed her second triple Axel.
