As and when we get such information we may add it to the list. Kulim is in North Malaysia, Kedah state, west of Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam. Private Cars At Kulim town, if you are driving along Jalan Raya, turn left at the traffic light near the Kulim post office into Jalan Tunku Bendahara. If you are driving along Jalan Tunku Laksamana, at the traffic light where you can see Kulim Clock Tower on your right and the Kulim post office across the road in front of you, go straight to enter into Jalan Tunku Bendahara. After that drive straight for another 2.2km, pass 3 schools on your left, where the last one is SJKC Chong Cheng. Then pass the main entrance of San Fo En Buddhist Temple which is on your right. Go straight for another 150m to the downhill steel gate on the right which is the entrance to Kulim Vipassana Course Site. (GPS coordinates: 5.3460636, 100.5537686). After entering the oil palm estate from the road, please drive another 200m uphill. 50m before reaching the course compound entrance, you will see a sign board showing you the open grass field to park your car. The open grass field is big enough to park about 12 cars. Bhd., to acquire a total of seven pieces of freehold land measuring 29.05 acres in Paya Terubong for RM165mil. Geo Valley Sdn. Bhd. will also invest 25% equity in Aspen Park Hills Sdn Bhd. THE PROPOSED PAN ISLAND LINK 1 HIGHWAY PROJECT, PENANG CHAPTER STATEMENT OF NEED 3 3.0 Introduction From the macro perspective, economic growth can be seen to be increasingly related to the mobility of people, goods and information. This state of affairs strengthens the relationship between the extent and characteristics of the transport infrastructure and the level of economic development in a given area. Thus, high levels of development are commonly associated with high density road infrastructure and highly connected road networks. The transport sector is therefore an important component of economic development. Efficient road systems provide economic and social opportunities and benefits that results in positive multiplier effects such as better accessibility to markets, employment and additional investments. When road systems are deficient in terms of capacity or reliability, they can have economic costs such as reduced or missed opportunities and lower quality of life. However, there may also be unintentional consequences. For example, road traffic congestion is often an unintended consequence in the provision of transport infrastructure to the users. Nonetheless, congestion and its accompanying effects are also indications of a growing economy where capacity and infrastructure have difficulties keeping up with the rising mobility demands. Thus, road transport carries an important socio-economic and environmental burden that cannot be neglected. It is linked to producer, consumer and production costs. The mobility it confers are linked to a level of output, employment and income within the state’s economy. The importance of a good and efficient road infrastructure can thus be assessed for each sector of the economy. -
