EDITOR-IN-CHIEF We are a city of great diversity and we are a city that celebrates our many forms of diversity. Yet, the fact remains that “generational” diversity is Rev. I. LaTrell Bailey an area, in which, a noticeable divide exists. According to the 2016 U.S. Census, the median age of the City of Saginaw is 35.5 years, making Millennials the largest demographic of our population. However, most Millennials feel that they have no voice or seat at the decision table when it comes to issues that affect both their present and future state of being and living. As the Millennials move up in the world, one of the principal challenges facing us, as a community, is being intentional and specific in embracing them and providing leadership opportunities that fulfill their desire to give back and be an active part of something greater than themselves. Millennials are profoundly socially-conscious and care, deeply, about the world around them. Thus, community, philanthropy and volunteerism are of the utmost importance to them.
