The only professional theatre PacRep Announces School of Dramatic Arts on the Monterey Peninsula

Fall Semester at the Forest Theater

CARMEL, CA – August 6, 2021. PacRep Theatre’s School of Dramatic Arts (SoDA) has announced

its 2021 Fall schedule of theatre arts classes, offering quality training in a wide variety of theatre skills, in a safe and nurturing environment. Students explore and expand their talents, learning

to express themselves on stage, as they build confidence and self-esteem. Classes are held Mondays through Saturday at the Forest Theater, at Mountain View & Santa Rita, Carmel. SoDA

is committed to providing professional training in theatre arts and presenting quality entertainment for students of all ages. For info on Financial Aid, students should inquire with

PacRep’s Saturday Academy: SoDA's Fall 2021 Saturday Academy will focus on the classics. It will encourage students grades 1 through 12 to find and develop their own level of creative

confidence through theatre. Utilizing the disciplines and techniques of the dramatic arts - speech, movement, pantomime, stage combat, historical characterization, improvisation, and

more - students learn to enhance their awareness, self-esteem, and the ability to work with others towards a common goal. Starting with theatre basics, students advance to more challenging curricula on a year-by-year basis.

Kids Musical Theatre Dance: Students will be introduced to a wide spectrum of musical theatre

dance styles, beginning with the genre of Broadway musicals and then they will investigate a deeper study of several well-known individual choreographers, including Bob Fosse and Michael

Bennett.

COST: $180 TIMES: 3:30 – 5 pm

AGES: 6 – 12 years

Storybook Theatre Adventures: Exercising their natural creativity through movement, vocal work, games and improvisation, students will portray beloved storybook characters while gaining confidence and presence on stage.

Treasure Trunk Theatre: Open the trunk to discover the spark that inspires the day’s interactive adventure. Each day builds into a story that we create and act out. Students learn to band together and use their voices, bodies, and imaginations to overcome a myriad of dramatic challenges.

Broadway Musical Theatre (Song & Dance): Students will be introduced to a wide spectrum of Musicals. Valuable performance and character development skills will be gained by exploring scenes into songs from Broadway. Scene, Song and Movement all in one amazing class.

Sing and Play: Students will experience singing through theatre games and movement. This class will tap into each student’s natural singing ability while fostering teamwork, self-expression, and confidence-building.

SoDA Instructor Miranda Perl WEDNESDAYS: 12 Sessions, September 15 – December 8 (no class on November 24) COST: $150 TIMES: 3:30 – 4:15 pm AGES: 5 – 8 years

Bach to Rock Glee Club (B2R) : Each student will explore fun vocal exercises and singing in harmony while performing arrangements of popular songs. The B2R Glee Club provides a group learning experience that emphasizes reading music, intonation, listening skills, rhythm, and healthy vocal technique.
