6 | DIESELTALK QUARTERLY REPORT | APRIL 2016 You’ve got better things to do than manage your fleet’s tyres.

When it comes to running a safe and productive fleet, tyres are critical. Tyres affect everything from fuel efficiency and safety to vehicle downtime. They’re not cheap, but they still need to be constantly monitored and replaced. Like everything else related to keeping a fleet on the road, managing your tyres isn’t easy. It takes time, effort and of course, it can be stressful. You could do it all yourself, but we know that you’ve got better things to do, like spending time on your business.

TR Group have been working with company owners and fleet operators for over 20 years, so we know what’s needed to be the best. And we definitely know tyres. After all, we manage the tyres of our own rental fleet, which consists of more than a thousand heavy vehicles. Our specialist tyre manager has over two decades of experience – and he’s only one part of a dedicated team that will change the way you see tyres.

We can reduce your tyre cost per kilometre through better buying and tread selection, better servicing, more accurate pressure management, and smarter use of technology. That’s why TR Group is your perfect heavy transport partner. Proud supporter of

16 | DIESELTALK QUARTERLY REPORT | APRIL 2016 Sign up to safer driving

The Safe Driving Rewards Programme helps support transport operators and their drivers to be safer on the roads. If you’re insured with NZI or Lumley and an EROAD customer you’re eligible to sign up to our programme. Keeping your vehicles on the road is good for business, so being able to monitor and report on your drivers’ speed, harsh braking and rapid acceleration helps reduce the risk of accidents by creating driver awareness about safe driving. As an EROAD customer you can access the EROAD Leaderboard to see how your company and drivers are performing on the roads compared to other EROAD connected transport operators. The star ratings your drivers receive tell you how safely they’re driving and give your company an overall ranking on the EROAD Leaderboard. If you’re signed up to our programme and ranked in the top 25 per cent of the Leaderboard, for that month, you’ll be eligible to have your excess waived in the event of an insurance claim. Sign up now at www.safedrivingrewards.co.nz We’ll take care of the rest. LUM0044/1 03/16 NEWSTALK Are driver skills lacking?

We installed Drive Buddy in 70 of our trucks because we wanted to be more proactive with developing better driver behaviour. It sits in the cab and acts as a guide for our drivers when they’re on the road. They don’t have to do anything. They’re definitely more vigilant about their speeds now and it’s becoming a bit of an obsession with some of them: they’re competing with each other to be the best. At first, our focus was on over speed events of 15km and up. We wanted to get rid of the red alerts, then the amber, and it’s working: we’ve seen a huge, huge decrease in speeding events. – Lajanne Smith, Senior Projects Manager, NZL Group www.eroad.co.nz 0800 4 EROAD (37623)
