Beredo, III Chair, The Diversity Center Board of Directors 4 | www.diversitycenterneo.org 63rd Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner e Diversity of northeastCenter ohio I am pleased to welcome you to our 63rd Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner. As a nation and as a community, from Charlottesville to a hateful poster on the campus of Cleveland State University, we are constantly facing challenges in race relations, immigration issues, social and economic justice, LGBTQ discrimination, educational disparities, and so much more. Our work and mission are just as important today as when we were founded in 1927. Your presence here tonight shows that you believe in creating communities where all people are connected, respected, and valued. Each year, the dedicated staff of The Diversity Center is challenged to provide new and unique program off erings and their commitment is shown by our success. Every school and company is unique so every program we provide is designed for that particular organization’s needs. Every camp, conference and retreat requires preparation, discussion, and detailed organization prior to its delivery. And it takes a team – from the program staff who develop and facilitate the program, to marketing so people are aware of the program, to fundraising so we can continue to provide the program. We know our success is reliant on your commitment to us. We thank you for supporting us and helping us to grow through your fi nancial commitment, in-kind donations, and participation in our programs. I thank you for joining us tonight to celebrate the remarkable work of Randell McShepard and Bernie Moreno. Each has shown true leadership, humanity, and a desire to help the next generation from Northeast Ohio.
