Graduating with a bachelor's degree in English in 2000, he was a three-year starting fullback under legendary coach LaVell Edwards and was named Football Scholar of the Year in 1998. He was also team captain and most valuable running back in 2000. Following graduation, Sitake was signed as a free agent by the Cincinnati Rick Ainge Richard C.
