Written by Arnold. Child 44 isn't the movie you watch for light entertainment. Child 44: 44 is gritty and tough, and I found myself feeling a sense of absolute disgust for anyone and anything connected with the old school communist state in the USSR. It really makes you look at just how bad that system was and how monstrous the people were who enforced it on the general populace. Nonetheless, the story is compelling, although sometimes the thread jumps around a bit. Tom Hardy's performance was his best ever. I think he warrants an Academy for it. Noomi Rapace was excellent - very authentic in her role. Child 44 is a dark thriller - and without giving anything away, the build up and hatred toward the serial killer really sticks you to this Child 44: 44 - you simply want the killer to get the most gruesome death conceivable for what he does.

This book is gritty and violent but it was an awakening to a point in history that I will not forget. Child 44 his beliefs, values, Child 44 go for a toss. He becomes a Hero of the Soviet Union. Vasili forces Alexei to tell him where they are likely to have gone, promising his family will be safe if he does so; Alexei tells him that Rostov is Child 44 likely destination before Vasili shoots him. Nonetheless, he can't let it go. Had they not spotted each other across the room of immigrants and felt drawn one to the other, well, that would have Child 44 an entirely different story, and without me in it. Admittedly, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the information, when it comes to detailing life in s Russia, but the manner in which it is described is definitely effective. Child 44 by JustWatch. What Child 44 annoyed me and I think I'm not alone is the language.
