Wiggle Waggle Walkathon & Run for the Animals Sunday, September 13th, 2015 - Queen Juliana Park, Dow’s Lake

Participating in the Pack (team) Challenge at the Ottawa Humane Society’s Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and/or Run for the Animals is fun and easy! This Pack kit gives you all the information you need to register, enter a Pack, and raise pledges for the walkathon and/or run.

Pack Challenge 2015 Rules and Guidelines What is a Pack? A Pack is a group of at least four registered individuals, including but not limited to corporations (profit, non- profit, government), the general public, sports teams and community groups.

How to Participate in the Pack Challenge: Every Pack must have a Pack Captain, who motivates, informs their team about the walkathon/run, and acts as a liaison between the team and the OHS. The Pack Captain’s responsibilities include:

1. ONLINE REGISTRATION

a. Register their Pack online, and encourage all Pack members to register and solicit online (www.ottawahumane.ca/walk or www.ottawahumane.ca/run.)

b. Come to kit pick up/pre-registration on Thursday, Sept 10 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the OHS OR Saturday Sept 12 from 12-4 p.m. at Queen Juliana Park, Dow’s Lake to register and collect incentive prizes (if applicable) to distribute to Pack members. OR

2. OFFLINE REGISTRATION

a. The Pack Captain notifies the Ottawa Humane Society that they are entering a Pack into the walkathon/run by completing the Pack Information Sheet (attached) and submitting it via email to [email protected] or by fax to 613-725-5674 or in person at 245 West Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON, K2E 1A6.

b. The Pack Captain ensures that each team participant has a Registration & Sponsor Form. This form can be downloaded from our website at www.ottawahumane.ca/walk or www.ottawahumane.ca/run. Distribute the forms to your Pack members so that they can begin collecting pledges. Each Pack member collects pledges using the Registration & Sponsor Form.

c. The Pack Captain circulates the Waiver of Liability to Pack members. We recommend you distribute these at the same time as the Registration & Sponsor Form. All signed forms must be collected from each walker and submitted at kit pick up/registration.

d. Before coming to kit pick up/registration, the Pack Captains must collect from each walker/runner:

To avoid long line-ups on walk/run day, we strongly suggest that teams register for the walk/run at pre-registration on Thursday, Sept 10 at the OHS from 5 – 8 p.m. or Saturday Sept 12 at Queen Juliana Park from 12 – 4 p.m.

Pack Challenge 2015 Prizes and Incentives

All Wiggle Waggle Walkathon fundraisers are eligible for the following prizes:

$125 = Walkathon T-shirt $250 = Walkathon T-Shirt, one Grand Prize draw ballot, free pet photo, free Puppy Picasso $500 = VIP STATUS, Walkathon T-shirt, three Grand Prize draw ballots, VIP perks on site $1,000 = VIP STATUS, Walkathon T-shirt, five Grand Prize draw ballots, invitation to OHS shelter for a private behind the scenes tour, VIP parking, VIP perks on site $2,500 = VIP STATUS, Walkathon T-shirt, ten Grand Prize draw ballots, position as “leader of the pack” (lead walker at start of the event) with opportunity to cut the ribbon to start the event, invitation to the OHS shelter for a private behind the scenes tour, VIP parking, VIP perks on site

All Run for the Animal fundraisers are eligible for the following prizes:

**Please note: Run registration fee includes a Run t-shirt, timer chip and race bib.

Please write the full name of each individual Pack member and their shirt size. Walk registration fee is $25 per non- OHS adopter Pack member or $20 per OHS-adopter Pack member. Run registrations fees: 10K $50; 5K & Canine 3K $45, Kids Run $15. Registration fees are payable at kit pick-up night. ** Please not that each walkathon team member must raise a minimum of $125 to receive a t-shirt. Run t-shirts are included in the registration fee.**

In order to participate in the walkathon or run every individual must sign a Waiver of Liability. The Pack Captain should distribute one form to each of their Pack members along with the Registration & Sponsor Form. The Pack Captain must collect and bring the signed Waiver of Liablity forms to pre-registration.

Waiver of Liability In signing this release, I understand that I am participating at my own risk and waive all claims of any nature against the organizers, officials, sponsors, cooperating organization and any other parties connected with this event in any way, singly or collectively, from and against any blame and liability, for any injury, misadventure, harm, loss, inconvenience, or damage hereby suffered or sustained as a result of participating in the Ottawa Humane Society Wiggle Waggle Walkathon. Owners are responsible for controlling their animals.
