Individuals can stay at the shelter for up to 90 days while receiving clothing, food, and transportation along with access to crucial services designed to help provide stability. Studies have shown 40 percent of youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ+. Since 2018, the Center has operated a 6-bed Transitional Living Program which supports youth to stay up to 24-months. Grants from the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES), funding by the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) and matching funds from the City of Sacramento and private LGBT Center donors are making the new shelter and programs possible. Marking the milestone will be a reunion of drag personalities Rusty Nails and Felicity Diamond, who put the “drag” in Drag Queen Bingo when it launched in 2009, and current Mistress of Ceremonies DoMe Moore, aka Chamber board member Paul Crouch.
