KENNEDY’S “K” CLUB--Last night marked the third time in as many starts as a Royal that Ian Kennedy has recorded exactly seven strikeouts...he joins Zack Greinke (first six starts of 2009), Kevin Appier (first three starts of 1995) and (first three starts of 1990) as the only other pitchers to fan at least seven through their first three starts of the year with Kansas City. TOUGH AT HOME--Last night’s loss dropped the Royals to 5-2 to open their work in Kauffman Stadium for 2016...dating back to last October, Kansas City has won 12 of its last 14 games contested here in “The K”...the Royals are coming off a 51-30 home mark last season, the third best home win total in the American League...last year’s total matched the 1975 Royals for fifth most at home in team history.
