You can choose your safari tour for already planned safaris or you can design your own safari tour to satisfy your interest and meet your needs. Whether you book your safari as one individual, or a couple, or a family or a group of friends, we will do all we can for you to have the best experience. The following are examples of safari packages and itineraries we can put together for you: ONE DAY TRIP LAKE NAIVASHA & HELL’S GATE TOUR – DAY TRIP This is a typical city break trip focusing on activity adventure, birdlife and small game viewing. It includes: • Small plains game viewing • Boat ride at Lake Naivasha • Spectacular Hell’s gate Gorge walk • Hot springs • Hippopotamus, small game and bird viewing • Bicycle ride • Tourist circuits & nature trails 1 Hell’s Gate is one of Kenya’s small national parks, which can be explored on foot. But we would drive to the Hell’s Gate national park, and stop at some places to enjoy the scenic view of the Great Rift Valley. We may also get an opportunity to walk or cycle amid gracefully grazing gazelles, antelopes, zebras and giraffes to give you that unique and delightful experience of getting so close wild animals in their natural habitat. TWO DAY SAFARI TOUR MASAI MARA OVERNIGHT SAFARI This is a safari tour not to miss! Masai Mara safari tour can only be described as a safari drive in search of the Big Five with awesome scenery and traditional Masai culture and lifestyle of Masai cattle herders. For accommodation you can choose between a budget, standard or luxury safari lodges or tented camps. Explore the Amboseli national park at the floor of the Mount Kilimanjaro on game viewing drives and possible mountain peak views. You may also choose to visit Lake Bogoria where you would see thousands of pink flamingos.     Spring 13 Assessment of habitat and wildlife density in Community Wildlife Sanctuaries Amboseli Ecosystem, Kenya Claire Poelking Community wildlife sanctuaries within the Amboseli ecosystem serve as a wildlife corridor for migratory species from Amboseli National Park. The sanctuaries are community-based conservation areas that provide wildlife with necessary resources outside of Amboseli National Park and grant the local community managerial rights to the land and its resources. Data were collected in six sanctuaries located in Kimana Group Ranch. Foot counts were used to collect information on habitat types, vegetative health, and species presence within the sanctuaries. Each sanctuary was individually assessed upon habitat availability – measured by habitat proportion and vegetative health – based on a scoring system modified from Herlocker (1993). Wildlife density and habitat preference by wildlife were calculated using the Jacob’s Index. Additionally, seasonal and annual wildlife density variations were determined using similar data collected since 2010. Habitat heterogeneity proved to be the best predictor for wildlife presence in the sanctuaries, while habitat quality was less influential in observed wildlife presence. A one-way ANOVA revealed no significant difference in the annual variation of wildlife densities among the sanctuaries. PLEASE RESPECT THE WILDLIFE CODE AMBOSELI Respect the privacy of the wildlife, this is their habitat. Beware of the animals, they are wild and can be unpredictable. NATIONAL PARK Don't crowd the animals or make sudden noises or movements. Don't feed the animals, it upsets their diet and leads to human dependence. Keep quiet, noise disturbs the wildlife and may antagonize your fellow visitors. Stay in your vehicle at all times, except at designated picnic or walking areas. Keep below the maximum speed limit (40 kph/25 mph). Never drive off-road, this severely damages the habitat. When viewing wildlife keep to a minimum distance of 20 meters and pull to the side of the road so as to allow others to pass. Leave no litter and never leave fires unattended or discard burning objects. Respect the cultural heritage of Kenya, never take pictures of the local people or their habitat without asking their permission, respect the cultural traditions of Kenya and always dress with decorum. Stay over or leave before dusk, visitors must vacate the Park between 7.00pm - 6.00am unless they are camping overnight. Night game driving is not allowed.
