Led Zeppelin IV, das nie einen offiziellen Titel bekam, ist eines der künstlerisch einflussreichsten und kommerziell erfolgreichsten Alben in der Geschichte der Rockmusik. Im November 1971 veröffentlicht, setzte das Album für eine ganze Generation neue Maßstäbe des Rocksounds mit weltweit bekannten Titeln wie Stairway To Heaven, Rock And Roll, Black Dog und When The Levee Breaks. 1999 wurde Led Zeppelin IV in die Grammy Hall Of Fame aufgenommen und erreichte insgesamt 23 Mal Platin in den USA! Die Deluxe-Edition von Led Zeppelin IV brilliert mit bisher unveröffentlichten Versionen aller Songs des Originalalbums und enthält alternative Mixe von Misty Mountain Hop und Four Sticks sowie Mixe von The Battle Of Evermore und Going To California, die schwer mit Mandoline und Gitarre ausgerüstet sind. Außerdem dabei: eine alternative Version von Stairway To Heaven, die in den Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles gemixt wurde und den Fans einen der größten Songs der Rock-Geschichte in bisher ungehörter Dimension präsentiert. Mit Houses Of The Holy und legendären Songs wie The Song Remains The Same und No Quarter kehrten LED ZEPPELIN im Jahr 1973 auf Platz 1 der US-Charts zurück. Die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung des LED ZEPPELIN-Sounds schlug sich in Songs wie dem Reggae-beeinflussten D’yer Mak’er und der funkigen Jam- Session The Crunge nieder. Für über 11 Millionen verkaufte Exemplare wurde dem Album Diamant-Status zugesprochen. Zu den sieben bisher unveröffentlichten Tracks auf der Companion Disc gehören Rohmixe und Arbeitsversionen von The Ocean und Dancing Days, die einen tiefen Einblick in die Aufnahmesessions dieser Klassiker gestatten. John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page und Robert Plant gründeten LED ZEPPELIN im Jahr 1968. In den folgenden Jahren wurde die Band eine der einflussreichsten, innovativsten und mit mehr als weltweit 300 Millionen verkauften Alben eine der erfolgreichsten Bands der Rock-Musik. Die Band entwickelte sich aus der Asche der Yardbirds, nachdem Page Plant, Bonham und Jones für eine Tour als The New Yardbirds zusammengebracht hatte. 1969 erschien ihr erstes, Led Zeppelin betiteltes Album, das den Beginn eines 12 Jahre währenden Siegeszugs durch die Rockgeschichte markierte. LED ZEPPELIN werden noch immer für ihre Schlüsselrolle in der Musikgeschichte geehrt. 1995 wurden sie in die Rock’n’Roll-Hall-of-Fame aufgenommen, 2005 erhielten sie den Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award für ihr Lebenswerk und im Jahr darauf wurden sie in Stockholm mit dem Polar Music Prize geehrt. 2007 betraten die Gründungsmitglieder Jones, Page und Plant zusammen mit Jason Bonham, dem Sohn Jon Bonhams, die Bühne der O2-Arena in London, um ein Konzert zu Ehren Ahmet Erteguns zu headlinen, der ein enger Freund der Band und überdies Gründer von Atlantic Records war. 2012 wurde die Band bei den Kennedy Center Honors für ihren Beitrag zur amerikanischen Kultur gewürdigt. Nach vielfachen Gold- und Platin- Auszeichnungen auch in Deutschland, bekamen LED ZEPPELIN beim ECHO 2013 den „Lifetime Achievement Award“ für ihr Lebenswerk überreicht. Im Januar 2014 gewannen sie schließlich ihren ersten Grammy in der Kategorie Best Rock Album für das Album Celebration Day, das ihre Live-Performance beim Ertegun Tribut- Konzert referiert.     Led Blimpie: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin from Hell’s Kitchen Liner Notes Originally begun as a 3 song demo, this project evolved into a full-on research project to discover the recording styles used to capture Zeppelin's original tracks. Sifting through over 3 decades of interviews, finding the gems where Page revealed his approach, the band enrolled in “Zeppelin University” and received their doctorate in “Jimmy Page's Recording Techniques”. The result is their thesis, an album entitled: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin from Hell's Kitchen. The physical CD and digipack are adorned with original Led Blimpie artwork that parodies the iconic Zeppelin imagery. "This was one of the most challenging projects I've ever had as a producer/engineer...think of it; to create an accurate reproduction of Jimmy Page's late 60's/early 70's analog productions using modern recording gear in my small project studio. Hats off to the boys in the band and to everyone involved.. RETHINKING THE LAW ON CORPORATE MANSLAUGHTER TO BETTER REFLECT THE ARTIFICIAL LEGAL EXISTENCE OF CORPORATIONS 1 Lucy Hooper Abstract This year, 2018, marks the 10 year anniversary of the implementation of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007. It is, therefore, an appropriate time to review its effectiveness and consider whether the Act has achieved what it set out to. Its introduction was a parliamentary attempt to address the key defects’2 under the previous identification doctrine, where a company’s liability was dependant on gross negligent manslaughter being sought in the relevant directing mind and will. This article will highlight the inadequacies of the former regime and review to what extent the 2007 Act has resolved them. Importantly, it references the recent Grenfell Tower disaster, which, if corporate manslaughter charges are pursued, will be the Act’s biggest and most public challenge to date. Keywords: corporate manslaughter, Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007, gross negligent manslaughter Introduction Companies, as a result of Salomon3, are ‘distinct and independent’4 entities separate from their members. However, in reality, ‘corporations have no consciences, no beliefs, no feelings, no thoughts, no desires’ and merely ‘help structure and facilitate the activities of human beings’. 5 Consequently, under the original common law models, corporate criminal liability had to be found in individuals and then ‘attributed’ to the company. Attribution in the UK, commonly takes two forms. In September there will be new pictures on the front cover and the advertising pages will have been reset. Unfortunately many of our small local businesses have not been trading since March and can no longer afford to advertise but I hope you will all support those who are continuing. It has been heartening to know that many of our readers have been seeking out the landmarks pictured through the year. I hope as much pleasure will be given by the new theme. I’d like to extend my thanks to all contributors during the year and especially the effort made to keep the magazine interesting since lock- down.     TR 11 On “The Battle of Evermore” by Led Zeppelin Douglas Menagh “The whole idea of music, from the beginning of time, was for people to be happy.” —Robert Plant The last time I was with my dad—before he was hospitalized and passed—was at his Led Zeppelin place in Peter Cooper Village in the spring of 2013. I stood there, waiting for him outside in a quad of buildings on a sunny afternoon. A cool breeze blew through the trees as “The Battle of Evermore” adults accompanied children on paths. My father was always good around kids, especially Untitled / Runes / ZoSo / IV to me and my sister Nancy when we were little. It made me happy to know that he was 11/1971 somewhere peaceful, where he could remember happy times with his own family. That distracted me from my own nervousness at reuniting with him after a period of Atlantic estrangement. It wasn’t hard to tell from my father’s walk that it was him passing through the entrance archway into his community. He always had a familiar gait, and I was happy to see it again. In our recent chats, he sounded like the good man that was my father, not the person he had been all those years. He walked around with an oxygen tank, which I had heard about from my mom and sister, who were both on speaking terms with him by then. He didn’t look all bad though. His hair still looked wavy and silvery. Mostly, I was glad to see him and break bread.
