39 ANNUAL REPORT 2015–2016 SIR MOSES MONTEFIORE JEWISH HOME PEOPLE, CULTURE & LEARNING

It is no secret that the aged care workforce is facing a myriad of challenges, especially in relation to the recruitment and retention of appropriately skilled staff. It is predicted that by 2050, the aged care workforce will need to grow from 300,000 to 800,000, as the number of Australians expected to access services rapidly increases.

At Montefiore, we recognise that our workforce is central to achieving our Mission and Vision. As part of our strategic planning efforts, the People, Culture & Learning team remain focused on implementing new initiatives so as to be recognised as an Employer of Choice by both existing and prospective employees. The opinions and feedback from our existing employees have been crucial in shaping these initiatives. In August 2015, we conducted our Employee Satisfaction Survey.
