Conca del Riu Anoia 13 (Xarel-lo, Macabeo & Parellada) Vibrant, mineral-laced lemon pith and quince aromas are complicated by chamomile, musky herbs, buttered toast and an exotic touch of roasted coffee. Spicy, focused and dry on the palate, offering energetic citrus and orchard fruit flavors that flesh out slowly. 2014 Finca Raventós "i Blanc Rosé" D. O. Conca del Riu Anoia 14 (Macabeu, Xarel.lo, Parellada & Monastrell) It offers up an expressive minerality along with notions of brioche, spring flowers, and white fruits. W H I T E BY THE GLASS 2015 Bodegas Muga "Muga Rosé" ( Garnacha, Viura & Tempranillo)D.O.C. Rioja 11 Lots of strawberry and cherry notes as well as surprising body and underlying power give this a traditional, old style rose character. With both freshness and flavor intensity, this surprisingly fine effort should drink well for a year. 2014 Bodegas Bibatio "Bimai" (Hondarribi Zuri) D.O. Getariako Txakolina 11 Shows a bit of spritz upon opening and it is surprisingly bright and refreshing, the yellow and green citrus fruit definitely shows ripeness and it's balanced out nicely. Nice unique flavor and there's a pleasant herbal quality to the wine. 2014 Avancia Cuveé de "O", Valdeorras ( Godello) D.O. Valdeorras 12 Exhibits lots of wet stone and chalky minerality as well as intense notes of white currants and a delicate hint of apricots. Rich and intense minerality, with wonderful freshness as well as precision. www.bcnhouston.com W H I T E BY THE GLASS 2014 Hacienda de Arinzano (Chardonnay) D.O.P. Pago de Arinzano 13 This Chardonnay is a lively, expressive, fresh, very elegant and persistent. Intensive citrus notes with light toasty hints coconut, honey and dry fruits, like hazelnut and almonds. 2014 Paco & Lola (Albariño) D.O. Rias Baixas 14 This is a chic and fun Albariño with an attractive straw color expressing fine notes of green apples, pear, and lemony aromas. The palate is clean and textured eductive and exotic notes of pineapple and mango. 2014 Rafael Palacios "Louro" (Godello & Treixadura ) D.O. Valdeorras 14 This predominately godello wine was named "Louro do Bolo" after the vineyard district that the grapes were sourced from. Attractive pale yellow colour. Beautifully balanced on the palate, fresh and vibrant, very intense and strong. R E D BY THE GLASS 2011 Bodegas Valdemar "Conde de Valdemar Crianza" D.O.C. Rioja 14 (Tempranillo) "This red shows good focus and cut, with crisp black fruit flavors and notes of toast and mineral, backed by firm, well-integrated tannins and juicy acidity." very fruity with a ripened tannins, with a persistent full body long finish. 2010 Tandem Valle de Yerri "Macula" (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot) D.O. Navarra 15 This Navarra wine is very complex in the nose with smoky toasty hints. Also has a great chocolate, cassis and balsamic notes on the palate. That expresses the soils of the Yerri valley. 2012 Bodegas Muga "Muga Reserva Unfiltered" D.O.C. Rioja 16 (Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano & Garnacha) "Juicy and expressive", this lively red shows coffee and licorice notes that frame black cherry and currant flavors. The tannins are a bit chewy but resolve gracefully on the fruity finish. www.bcnhouston.com R E D BY THE GLASS 2006 Baldor Old Vines (Cabernet Sauvignon) D.O. Vino de la Tierra de Castillo 17 With 20 months of French and American Oak. Very intense and complex nose with balsamic notes, ripe black fruits and a hint of black chocolate and spices. The palate is concentrated with plenty of fruit volume and chocolaty finish. 2013 Casa Castillo "Las Gravas" D.O. Jumilla 18 (Monastrell, Garnacha & Syrah) This 2011 is one of the finest vintage from Las Gravas. It starts off with some notes of smoke, toffee, fresh fruit and orange peel in harmony with well-integrated oak and a stony profile that develops more notes of esparto grass with time in the glass. 2012 Bodegas Mauro "Mauro" D.O. Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León 22 (Tempranillo & Syrah) Dark and mysterious violet colour hidding a strong cedar aroma. Taste of dark chocolate, flesh violets. With a velvety texture and powerful expressive ever-lasting chocolate menthol berries finish. www.bcnhouston.com W I N E L I S T C A V A NV Codorniu "Brut Gran Reserva" (Chardonnay) 40 This cava is richer with a full-bodied, with less austerity and minerality It has notes of lemon and honey flavors on the palate. The wine reveals its nobility with its long finish. This cava will live a very long time. 2012 Juvé y Camps "Brut Nature Reserva de la Familia" ( Macabeo & Xarel.lo) 48 Pale gold in color, this Cava has aromas of mature white peach, toasted bread and green tea with hints of lemon citrus and apricots hints of lemon citrus and apricots. It is dry and crisp, with red fruit flavors, and a long, lovely finish. 2010 Gramona Imperial "Gran Reserva" ( Macabeo & Xarel.lo ) 75 Beautiful balanced of sweet stone fruit with an assertive perfect acidity level, aromas of spices, floral, figs and ripe yellow fruit that displayed elegance of structure and superb lasting complexity finsih. 2009 Llopart Leopardi "Brut Gran Reserva" ( Xarel-lo, Macabeo, Parellada & Chardonnay ) 80 Aromas of apple, pear, grass and green herbs are expansive. A forward, layered, sensuous palate delivers yeasty, toasty apple and pear flavors. On the finish, softness, depth and richness share space alongside acidity and length. 2008 Recaredo "Brut Nature Gran Reserva" ( Macabeo & Xarel.lo ) 90 Rich nose of lemon curd and peachy fruit, wool, maccadamia, bread and slight touch of Asian spice. Dry and balanced palate opening up to nice citrusy bitterness. opening up to nice citrusy bitterness. 2007 Gramona III Ilustros "Gran Reserva" ( Macabeo & Xarel.lo) 112 Powerful and vigorous well made that shows a lightly fruity, cherry-plums, quince, greenish yellow of hue, with lemony reflections that created a very complex and mature long finish of green apples. 2007 Agustí Torelló Mata "Kripta" ( Macabeo, Parellada & Xarel.lo) 200 The color is a bright-yellow, with plenty of toasty bread, brioche, yeast and smoke aromas, with fennel and aniseed notes intermixed with white fruit and sweet spice aromas. The palate has clean, pungent, delineated, sharp citric acidity, good balance and a long finish. 2001 Gramona "Enoteca Gran Reserva" ( Macabeo & Xarel.lo) 250 Golden with intense gold tones. On the nose, it shows great expressiveness and depth.

La iniciativa del PP, debatida en la Comisión de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación y rechazada por los votos en contra del PSOE, también pide al Ejecutivo que apruebe un Plan Estratégico para la Internacionalización del Sector Vitivinícola, comprometiendo los recursos económicos necesarios para el apoyo de las exportaciones y la apertura de nuevos mercados, tanto en terceros países como en los países comunitarios. El último punto de la moción solicita “desarrollar acciones dirigidas a potenciar el consumo interno, garantizando la promoción interior en el marco de la Organización Común de Mercados (OCM), incluyendo el apoyo al enoturismo”.

    Escalada do Sil Escalada Do Sil represents a revival of a style of wine that once upon a time was popular in the high elevation region of Valdeorras. Today Valdeorras is mostly known for the production of white Godello grapes, however before the 1800s, this region was known for the production of red wine, specifically grapes like Merenzao, which are rare to find today. Escalada Do Sil is a blend of Merenzao, Mencía and Garnacha Tintorera. Merenzao is very aromatic, offering aromas of strawberries and violets. In Portugal, the Merenzao grape takes the name of Bastardo and in France, specifically in the Jura region, it takes the name of Trousseau. Mencía provides body and Garnacha Tintorera (also known as Alicante Bouschet) contributes dark pigmentation and acidity. The vineyards of this rare wine are very near the cliffs of the Sil River, hence the name Escalada Do Sil. Valdeorras is known for its altitude and mineral soils composed of slate and granite. The region is in between Bierzo and Ribeira Sacra, but its climate is very different. Its higher elevation brings cooler nights and mornings, producing grapes with uplifted tones and refined tannins. The content of some metals (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Mn and Li) in a variety of red wines produced in different geographi- cal zones of Galicia was determined in a single analysis by capillary electrophoresis. Data were processed using multivariate supervised and non-supervised chemometric techniques involving cluster analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), linear dis- criminant analysis (LDA), K nearest neighbours (KNN) and soft independent modelling of class analogy (SIMCA). The results obtained have allowed for the categorisation of wine samples according to their origin; the wines with Ribeira Sacra Certified Brand of Origin (CBO) can be differentiated from the wines of two other CBO from Galicia: Ribeiro and Valdeorras. The latter two types of wine are made with the same or similar grape varieties; hence, due to their similar organoleptic properties they are possible substitutes for the falsification of Ribeira Sacra wines.
