Such a campaign is a service to communities — it is a positive Americanism. How many flags were displayed in your community on the last patriotic holiday? It is a sad fact that there is a growing apathy toward the display of our Flag, noticeable in most communities. If this is the case in your community, then you and your Post have an important job to do. Conduct a Flag campaign in your community. You can raise funds for your Post through such a plan. To encourage Flag ownership and display, the National Emblem Sales Division has made arrangements with America's largest Flag manu- facturer to provide special-value sets for resale by Posts similar to the sets illustrated below. (Not all of the sets below are included in this campaign.) Your Post will receive $1.00 for each set sold in such a campaign. WRITE FOR COMPLETE DETAILS TODAY. A R T I C L E ARE YOU RECREATING WORK AT HOME? by Billie Anne Grigg | 04/28/2017 Pocket Change converted by Web2PDFConvert.com converted by Web2PDFConvert.com 2 Recreating work at home. Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? If you run your business from your home, you have no doubt read one of the numerous articles about how to most effectively work from a home-based office. I admit to reading more than a few myself. When you are trying to strike a balance between running your business effectively, while facing the many distractions which accompany working from a home office, you look for all the help you can get. On the surface, these articles provide common sense advice. If you follow this advice, you will no doubt achieve greater effectiveness during your work day. However, all of this “common sense” advice yields one result: recreating work at home. The comfort – and the failure – of a familiar structure When my husband first started homeschooling our oldest son over ten years ago, we fell into a common trap: we tried to recreate the school environment at home. We didn’t go as far as some – I have read tales of homeschooling parents setting up a small-scale classroom, complete with chalkboard and a flag to start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance – but we started the school day promptly at 8am, we spent a set amount of time on each subject, and we even assigned homework. It was an utter failure. We made a common mistake: we adopted a familiar structure, because we thought that structure would result in success.

ON MY GRIND: FREESTYLE RAP PRACTICES IN EXPERIMENTAL CREATIVE WRITING AND COMPOSITION PEDAGOGY Evan Nave 312 Pages My work is always necessarily two-headed. Double-voiced. Call-and-response at once. Paranoid self-talk as dichotomous monologue to move the crowd. Part of this has to do with the deep cuts and scratches in my mind. Recorded and remixed across DNA double helixes. Structurally split. Generationally divided. A style and family history built on breaking down. Evidence of how ill I am. And then there’s the matter of skin. The material concerns of cultural cross-fertilization. Itching to plant seeds where the grass is always greener. Color collaborations and appropriations. Writing white/out with black art ink. Distinctions dangerously hidden behind backbeats or shamelessly displayed front and center for familiar-feeling consumption.

A man would never say about a woman he just went out with, “ She ’ s got poten- tial. ” ItCOPYRIGHTED ’ s almost a comical notion: two MATERIAL men are sitting at a bar, and one says to the other, “ So, man, how was your date yesterday? ” The other nods and replies, “ Yeah, this one, she ’ s got potential. ” cc01.indd01.indd 1 111/11/091/11/09 88:05:34:05:34 AAMM He’s Got Potential They each take a swig of beer. “ If I can get her to swivel less on her golf swing, ” the second man continues, “ she could break forty. And I ’ m sure that leg curls would take care of that bit of cellulite on the back of her thighs. She snorts when she laughs, but I can probably get used to that. Yep, this could be the ticket. ” The fi rst man slaps his friend on the back and says, “ Good luck, man. You are more of an optimist than I, my friend. Remember that babe last year?
