WELCOME PACKET IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER • You are at St. Jude to attend a meeting/conference only. • DO NOT take photos, videos or any recordings of patients, families, or patient information (and please ask any staff before you take their photo). • All patient information is confidential (includes information you may hear or see while attending a tour). • If you have family or friends traveling with you, please know they are not allowed on the St. Jude campus during your visit. Access to St. Jude is for you only. HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT (HIPPA) • HIPAA is a federal law designed to protect the privacy, security, and confidentiality of patients/research subjects’ Protected Health Information (PHI). • The rules protect health information in any form: oral, written, or electronic. • Who must follow the rules? - Employees - Students - Volunteers - Visitors - Trainees HIPA A is a federal law designed to protect the privacy, security, and confidentiality of patients/research subjects’ Protected Health Information (PHI) WELCOME PACKET CAMPUS INFORMATION ON-CAMPUS POLICIES STANDARDS OF CONDUCT • Conduct should be in accordance with good professional and ethical standards at all times. • If you violate policy or professional standards, endanger the health or well-being of staff, patients or visitors, interfere with the orderly and efficient operation of the facility, breach confidentiality or engage in any other activity, which St. Jude deems inappropriate and/or illegal, you will be subject to corrective action, up to and including being discharged from St. Jude campus. EMERGENCY WARNINGS • Fire alarm: leave the building by using the correct stairs (not elevator) • Announcements: in Patient Care areas - Dr. Red: fire or fire drill, ask for instructions - Dr. Red Major: leave the building - Dr. Green: all clear - Dr. Child: search for missing child • Severe Weather: be aware of the weather (tornadoes, severe thunderstorms) - Tornadoes: safest place is in the basement or lowest floor of a building, in a room with no windows (e.g. closet or bathroom) - Tornado siren: tested once a week, usually Wednesday afternoons WELCOME PACKET INFECTION CONTROL GUIDELINES INFECTION CONTROL GUIDELINES To protect the health and safety of patients, visitors are asked to follow these guidelines: • Visitors must be 16 years of age or older to visit the hospital. • Visitors of all ages may visit the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion located on the hospital campus if open. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. • Because many patients are vulnerable to infections as a result of treatment, visitors who are sick or who have been exposed to contagious illnesses must postpone and reschedule their visit. Visitors experiencing any of the following signs or symptoms must plan to visit at a later date: • Temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater in the last 48 hours • Vomiting or diarrhea • “Pink eye” • Rash suggestive of chickenpox, shingles, measles or other viral illness • Cold, flu, or respiratory infection (runny nose, congestion, sore throat, or cough) • A draining wound • A rash after recently receiving the chickenpox vaccine or • Have received the oral polio or smallpox vaccine within the previous four weeks To ensure a memorable experience for visitors, please follow these guidelines: • Visitors must be accompanied by an ALSAC or St. Jude staff DO NOT member with an ID badge at all times. come to • For privacy purposes, no photos or videos are allowed of patients, campus if families, or staff. • Visitors should avoid interacting with patients or their families to you are safeguard health and privacy. sick • St. Jude is a tobacco free campus. Always check the following website for any construction, route changes, or maintenance updates. http://www.matatransit.com/services/trolleys Main Street Rail Car Trolleys The Main Street Line travels along Main Street from A.W. Willis to G.E. Patterson Avenue. Main Street is just two blocks west of the St. Jude and the Uptown Square Apartments. Along this route, you can access restaurants, FedEx Forum, the Orpheum Theater, Gibson Guitar Factory, the Rock’N’Soul Museum, The National Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street, the Memphis Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning, and the South Main Arts District. Main Street Rail Line Trolley base fare is $1 and trolley passes will be accepted. Trolley operates every 20 minutes, 7 days a week. SERVICE HOURS: Monday-Friday: 6:45 a.m. – 12:15 a.m. (runs every 20 minutes) Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-12:10 a.m. (runs every 20 minutes) Sunday: 10 a.m.-6:10 p.m. (runs every 20 minutes) WELCOME PACKET TROLLEY SERVICE CONTINUED Riverfront and Madison Trolley Shuttle Schedule • The Riverfront Line travels the same route along Main Street, and also makes a loop along Riverside Drive for access to the River, Mud Island River Park, Beale Street Landing, and Tom Lee Park. • The Madison Avenue Line provides limited service to and from the Medical District on Madison Avenue to Main Street. Riverfront Line - Trolley Bus Route Trolley buses operate along Front Street and Riverside Drive to Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid. This shuttle operates about every 40 minutes. Trolley base fare is $1 and trolley passes will be accepted. SERVICE HOURS: Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday: 8:30 a.m.- 11:30 p.m. Sunday: 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Madison Line - Trolley Bus Route Trolley buses operate along Madison Avenue about every 30 minutes. Trolley base fare is $1 and trolley passes will be accepted.
