Let us know. Roy and Doreen L. Club News As you will know from the first newsletter, we have cancelled all events till the end of June. This includes the outing to Waterperry Gardens. We have recently heard from the RHS that they have cancelled our outing to the Tatton Park Flower Show. The RHS gave us the opportunity to carry forward our ticket money to the 2021 Show. We have spoken to everyone who bought tickets for this year, and a large majority wish to do this. The Tatton Park Show will be on the Programme of Events for 2021. Not everyone chose to do this, so some tickets will be available. The evening visit to Tresillian House in July is still under review. The NGS have advised the owners to close until the end of June, after which the situation will be reviewed.

I walked into the lounge to be greeted by a loud ‘cheep’. A beautiful shot of Joan and Kingsley’s garden at its best Perched on the curtain pelmet was a Great Tit who had managed to fly in through a small window. No panic, we exchanged glances and carried on. I laid a trail of suet pellets to the open patio door, which were ignored. I waited a few minutes , went quite close and said “off you go”. The bird flew out through the door as if to say “ I was going anyway, just wanted to see how the other half lived”

“One member’s lockdown activity “

A poem suggested by Janet M after reading an article by Nigel Colburn entitled ‘Love your garden’ He writes “The most pleasurable garden activity is to sit quietly for a while to gaze. Enjoy colour schemes, listen to bird- song, admire newly opened flowers and allow the beauty and peace to totally relax you.”

As Janet reminds us, we DO have time to stand and stare. We must make the most of it while it lasts. Janet's front garden is graced by this lovely combination of a Heather and a Skimmia
