AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM Toyota Safety Sense’s Automatic High Beam is designed to optimise visibility during night driving for all road users. A camera detects the lights of oncoming vehicles and leading traffi c whilst also monitoring the brightness of streetlights. It switches automatically between high and low beam for safer night-time driving.

INTELLIGENT ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL This technology includes the features of Adaptive Cruise Control combined with Road Sign Assist, automatically keeping the car at a pre-selected speed and warning the driver if the speed limit changes, and allowing the driver to easily adapt the cruising speed accordingly.

LANE DEPARTURE ALERT Using a camera to detect the lane markings in the road ahead, Toyota Safety Sense’s Lane Departure Alert will give the driver audible and visual warnings if the vehicle starts to deviate from its lane without the turn indicator being applied – the driver can then take corrective action. The Land Cruiser is fi tted with Toyota Safety Sense*, a set of active safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffi c situations. It includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS)§ with pedestrian (day or night) and cyclist (day only) detection, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB) and Road Sign Assist (RSA). Further safety technologies include a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffi c Alert (RCTA).

ROAD SIGN ASSIST Toyota Safety Sense’s Road Sign Assist monitors the road signs ahead, displaying useful information such as the current speed limit or overtaking restrictions in clear view on the new colour TFT cockpit display. The system also provides a visual and acoustic warning if you are not following the road sign indication.

PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM The Pre-Collision System is using alerts, brake assist or automatic braking to reduce the likelihood and severity of impact, and can detect cars, pedestrians (day or night) and cyclists (day only).
