I am particularly charmed that Architecture, city planing & traffic Summits & conferences the volunteers are becoming increasingly involved in the community, and are organizing cooperation events such as our tour through several city districts on the 20th of May. Mo lam refers to an expert of lam singIng who Is routInely accompanIed by a mo khaen, a skIlled player of the bamboo panpIpe. DurIng 1972 and 1973, Dr. ChonpaIrot conducted fIeld studIes on Mo lam in northeast Thailand and Laos with Dr. Terry E. Miller. For many generatIons, LaotIan and Thai villagers have crossed the natIonal border constItuted by the Mekong RIver to visit relatIves and to partIcipate In regular festivals. However, ChonpaIrot and Miller’s fieldwork took place durIng the fInal stages of the VIetnam War which had begun more than a decade earlIer. Remarquons que l’Iran est État non occidental et islamique, mais ayant néanmoins adhéré au principe, plutôt occidental, de la Convention internationale sur les droits de l’enfant. Cette recherche s’insère dans une continuité de recherche au soutien des droits humains. Elle propose une voie d’empowerment aux groupes iraniens ouverts à la démocratie, mais aussi aux mouvements éducatifs soucieux des droits fondamentaux de la personne. Divisé en quatre chapitres, le questionnement hybride de la thèse conduit à un essai interdisciplinaire critique bénéficiant aux trois disciplines du droit, de la philosophie et de l'étude empirique. Face au système juridique international et iranien d'un point de vue juridique classique, le chapitre philosophique tend à répondre à la question de «que pourrait-on considérer non seulement du droit à l'éducation, mais également du droit à une « éducation appropriée » fondée sur des motifs éthiques et philosophiques dans le sens où cela conviendrait mieux à la culture iranienne et aux habitudes sociales ».     A discussion with Jamileh Kharrazi in connection with another exceptional programme by “The Toos Foundation” Poetry, Dance and Lyrics In the land of Harp and Mandolins The Toos foundation whose several outstanding arts and culture programmes have appeared on the scene; creating a warm reception by the music and arts enthusiasts, once more has prepared another outstanding programme which will be shown on Sunday the 24 th October 2010, in Logan Hall. The programme’s title will be: “Poetry, Dance, and Lyrics in the land of Harp and Mandolins” thus, as the title clearly presents it entails collections of dances and lyrics from various districts of Iran; and as the coordinators say: it is a journey into the ever green fields of Mazandaran and the hot-t hirsty sandy regions of Baluchestan . Although the foundation had set tickets for this particular programme, yet still, Logan Hall was full and some people were left out. We have conducted an interview with Ms. Jamileh Kharrazi regarding this programme. Ms. Kharrazi, who is the founder of the Toos foundation, has always been active in promoting and introducing the arts and culture of Iran to the Iranian youth and non-Iranians. • Ms. Kharrazi, the reception of the programme once again was extraordinary; how do you evaluate the event? The Iranian nature is to always be proud of its rich culture and I too, am no exception. The intention of the programme was to introduce the audience with historic and traditional facts and customs of various Iranian provinces and to familiarise the enthusiasts with dance and ritual costumes of the selected provinces of Iran.

    Gaucho Reunion: Hybrid Program featuring live performances and dance films by current students and alumni Curator/Artistic Director Brandon Whited June 19, 2021 Center Stage Theater Director’s Note It is with great joy and pleasure that we welcome you back to the theater. It goes without saying that this has been an incredi- bly challenging year. While many industries have been effected by the pandemic in significant ways, the performing arts—and dance in particular—have endured devastating economic and structural ramifi- cations. COVID’s impact on the arts has been widely un-addressed at the governmental level and it is due to the unshakeable support of arts advocates, donors, and community organizers that we are here today. This year—and the end of last school year—has had a dispro- portionate sense of loss for our seniors. The students’ visions for the culmination of four years of study took a sharp turn. Yet, with grace and adaptability they met the challenges and losses with energy and passion and turned every opportunity into a meaningful experience. It is with great pride that we witness the transcendence of these short- falls—both locally, and more broadly across the field of dance. When submissions for the festival call came in, and the pro- gram curation started taking shape, it was the robust response from new and recent UCSB Alumni that inspired the program tonight. The choreographers, directors, filmmakers, and dancers presenting their work are representatives of various cohorts from the last few years. Their assemblage expresses the power of lineage and the shared history that connects graduates of any institution.
