Famsa has over 377 stores throughout Mexico with annual sales of $791 million and 26 stores in the U.S. with annual sales of $112.5 million. heB Mexico Texas-based HEB Mexico is a grocery and general merchandise store chain with regional presence in northern Mexico, operating 54 stores in two formats and reporting sales of more than $2 billion as of 2015. home Depot Mexico U.S.-based The Home Depot is the market leader in Mexico in the DIY/Home Improvement segment of the retail market, operating 115 stores in the country as of 2015. The company operates seven stores located principally in the Mexico City metropolitan area. Retail OveRview CONTINUED liverpool Founded in 1847, Liverpool is Mexico’s leading chain of upscale department stores, operating 109 department stores under the Liverpool and Fábricas de Francia brands throughout Mexico. The company’s commercial and services division reported revenues of approximately $5 billion for 2015. lowe’s Mexico U.S.-based Lowe’s Mexico is the second largest DIY/Home Improvement chain operating in the country. It was established in Mexico in 2010 and operates 10 stores in five states in the northern part of the country. In 2014, the company announced plans to open 50 new stores in Mexico in the following 5 years. Sears Established in Mexico since 1947 under the management of the U.S.-based Sears Holding Corporation, Sears Mexico was converted to a 100% Mexican-owned corporation in 2010. Sears Mexico is the second largest department store chain operating 89 stores throughout the country with reported annual sales of approximately $1.3 billion as of 2015. Soriana With reported 2015 sales of approximately $6 billion, Soriana is Mexico’s second largest grocery and general merchandise store chain, operating 825 retail locations across its various formats throughout the country. tiendas Chedraui Chedraui is among Mexico’s largest grocery and general merchandise chains, competing directly with Walmart and Soriana. The company operates 221 stores throughout Mexico, as well as another 50 stores in the United States under the El Super brand.
