Reinas de Puerto Rico Según el Diccionario de la Real Academia Española, una reina es una mujer que ejerce la potestad real por derecho propio o una mujer que por su excelencia sobresale entre las demás de su clase o especie. Las primeras pertenecen al viejo mundo y las segundas son del nuevo. Puerto Rico ha sido prolífico en reinas. Ya en el Siglo XIX se celebraban fiestas de pueblo donde se escogían a sus reinas para celebrar el triunfo de la espiritualidad sobre la frivolidad y como representante de la monarquía regente. Reinas de Puerto Rico es un intento de identificar todas las damas de nuestra sociedad que de una u otra forma han representado a sus pueblos o al País en los reinados de carnaval, fiestas patronales, fiestas especiales y certámenes de belleza. Estas jóvenes pertenecen a la historia folclórica de Puerto Rico y con este trabajo le damos reconocimiento. ¡Qué viva la Reina! Flor M. Box 9023916 San Juan, PR 00902 In re: WMIO(FM), Cabo Rojo, PR Facility ID No. 40052 File No. BALH-20050427ABB Application for Assignment of License Gentlemen: We have before us the above-captioned application (the “Application”) for consent to the assignment of the license for Station WMIO(FM), Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico (the “Station”), from Bestov Broadcasting, Inc. to Arso Radio Corporation (“Arso”). The Application includes an unopposed request by Arso for waiver of Section 73.3555(a) of the Commission’s Rules,1 which sets forth the limits on the number of stations a party may own in a local radio market (the “Waiver Request”). For the reasons set forth below, we conditionally waive Section 73.3555(a) and grant the Application. Communications Status Report for Areas Impacted by Hurricane Maria October 12, 2017 The following is a report on the status of communications services in geographic areas impacted by Hurricane Maria as of October 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM EDT. This report incorporates network outage data submitted by communications providers to the Federal Communications Commission’s Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS). DIRS is currently activated for all counties in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Note that the operational status of communications services during a disaster may evolve rapidly, and this report represents a snapshot in time. It should also be noted that some communications providers have not yet reported in DIRS, so outage information almost certainly is not complete. The following counties are in the geographic area that was covered by the DIRS activation as of this morning (the “disaster area”).
