However, before the alarm bells start ringing, let us clarify: we are no longer in the golden age of entertainment because today, entertainment is everything. We live in an attention economy where viewership, clicks, and likes control influence, relevance, and the bottom line. Consequently, every experience, product, and piece of content is being created with the entertainment factor in mind—from news stories and video tutorials to influencer personas and bathrooms (yes, bathrooms). All of this sounds good in theory—after all, who doesn’t love to be entertained?! But for marketers and content creators, it means that creating compelling media has gotten that much harder.

150 CANADIAN FILMS MESSAGE FROM THE PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA Dear Friends: I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to Canadians on National Canadian Film Day, a Canada 150 Signature Project, presented by REEL CANADA. This one-day event connects Canadians from sea to sea to celebrate the achievements of Canadian filmmakers. The film festival is one of many cultural projects during the Sesquicentennial year that will help build a sense of pride in and attachment to everything our remarkable country represents. I would like to commend REEL CANADA for coordinating this exciting celebration of homegrown film excellence and I encourage everyone to get involved. With so many works to choose from, and an audience eager to explore the best of Canada’s rich film history, National Canadian Film Day is sure to be a resounding success. Etwa in Ryûhei Kitamuras DOWNRANGE oder Johannes Roberts STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT. Euer Fantasy Filmfest-Team » Fantasy Filmfest has a heart for dogs. Especially for those lovingly hand-crafted, stop-motion ones in ISLE OF DOGS. No other than Wes Anderson is responsible for our furry highlight – a film that already opened this year’s Berlinale. The fact that Fantasy Filmfest also has a heart for zombies, blood and gore should be known to all our frequent visitors.
