Rama and Rao Sudanagunta were one of the first South Asian Indians to move to Fresno, California. Inspired by their parent's delicious and healthy recipes from their village, Ongole, they decided to open the first Indian in Fresno in 1989. Their village, Ongole, also happens to be where the world-famous Brahma Bulls originate from.

When the restaurant first opened, there was much confusion about the , and some even thought it was Native American. After educating the locals about different types of herbs and spices, Brahma Bull quickly became a popular dining spot in Fresno.

Since opening, Rama and Rao's motto has always been: "To Stay Healthy, To Feel Healthy, Eat Healthy!."
