(i) revoke with effect from October 19,1953, the Pnce Order mentioned below m so far as it fixes the maximum prices of rice for the (a) Food Price Order No B 10 dated, July 21, 1953, and published in Government Gazette No. 10,554 o f July 24, 1953 ; (ii) fix the prices specified in columns 2, 3 and 4 of the First Schedule hereto to be the maximum wholesale prices per 112 measures, 80 measures and 48 measures nett, respectively, above which rice shall not be sold by wholesale in the areas mentioned in the corresponding entries in column 1 of the same Schedule, (in) fix the prices specified in column 2 o f the Second Schedule hereto to be maximum retail piices per measure above which rice shall not be sold in the areas mentioned m the corresponding entnes in column 1 of the same Schedule , (iv) direct that for the purpose of this Order— (a) any sale of any quantity of rice for the purpose of resale shall be deemed to be a sale by whole­ sale , lb) any sale of any quantity of rice for the purpose of consumption or use by the purchaser shall be deemed to be a sale by retail; - (c) “ measure ’ shall be deemed to be the standard quart dry measure. 1763------J.N. a 39211-3,196 10 53)' A 1 1 7 0 4 I’akt I Sec. They are the MAXIMUM prices above which sales cannot take place. - ' / (2) The maximum amount that is payable for any quantity of rice which is less than 80 measures nett and'sold by wholesale, should, as usual, be calculated proportionately from the maximum wholesale price per 80 measures nett specified above.

(3) direct that every trader, who soils rice (wholesale)1 in the areas mentioned in Column 1 of the Schedule horoto, shall oxhibit in a conspicuous position at his premises (store or boutique), a notice in which shall bo sot out the maximum pricos of rico fixed by this Order; (4) direct that no porson shall sell rico which is adulterated with any other article, or with rice of an inferior description or grade; (6) diroct that every person who soils rice by wholesale shall, on demand, give the purchaser of that rice a receipt on which there shall be set out— (a) tho date of salo; (b) tho quantity of rice sold; * (c) tho price paid for the quantity of rico sold; and (d) tho nature of the transaction, that is to say, whether the sale was by wholesale or by retail, and

(6) diroct that for the purpose of this Order— (a) any sale of any rico for the purpose of resale shall be deemed to be a salo by wholesale ; (b) “ Measure ” shall-be deemed to be the standard quart, dry measure ; and (c) tho maximum wholesale prico'which may be demanded for any quantity of rice which is less than one bag shall be determined by roference to the maximum wholesale price per bag fixed by this , Order.
