Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn. - O. Fred Donaldson VITALITY, the Annual Sports Day of Delhi Public School, Hyderabad, Grade 1 and 2, was held on 14th December, 2019 on the sprawling grounds of the school amidst cheers and frolicsome atmosphere. More than 580 students of Grade 1 and 2 demonstrated their talent on the field, be it in competitive races, vibrant drill displays or rhythmic music. The launch of ‘Fit India Movement’ by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi this year, on the occasion of National Sports Day encouraged DPS to join hands towards this noble mission of Fit India Movement through the Sports Day. DIPSCOOP an e-magazine 1 The ceremony began with a guard of honour, a ceremonial march past, taken by the Principal of DPS Hyderabad, Mrs. GeethaVishwanathan. The students then welcomed the audience by the beautiful rendition – ‘We are glad, you are here’. This was followed by the welcome address by the wing in charge, Mrs. Ruchi Gulati, making a mention of the students who brought accolades to the school in different events and various other achievements of the school. The young Dipsites then marched confidently to the rhythm of the drum beats, holding the bunch of colourful balloons, displaying coordination, team spirit and discipline. The ceremonial releasing of the colourful balloons symbolized the vibrant hopes and aspirations the school and parents have for the students. Then unfurled the numerous fun races by the students which included the Novelty Relay Races – Hoop the Loop, FIT India, Swift Relayers and 50 Metres sprints for both boys and girls – Fastest Feet First. The students showcased excellent team-work, perseverance and sportsmanship spirit during these races. The spectators were captivated by some nail biting finishes. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Next was a peppy theme song which signified the importance of sports and building sportsmanship spirit. The students again gave the audience a musical treat by presenting the song – ‘Its time you cheer’ followed by ‘We are one nation’, which left the audience spell-bound yet again and set the mood in place for the upcoming drill event. The students presented an enthralling drill display - ‘Ojas’, effectively depicting the theme of the event – VITALITY – through the breath-taking formation of the muscle man fitness logo by the young Dipsites. The drill display with dumbbells was exceptionally well coordinated and the spectacular formation left everyone spellbound, appreciating the student’s poise and confidence. The event culminated with the students presenting the vote of thanks, thanking each and everyone involved in the programme and rendition of the National Anthem. Parents’ Testimonial “We want to appreciate the Sports Day conducted in the school premises this year. It was very well organised and we did not have to wait for either the parking or the collecting of our kids after the event. The seating arrangement was also done meticulously so that each parent could witness the performance of their child. Thank you for keeping it simple and finishing it on time. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the teachers who had a lion’s share in the success of the event.” – Ms Subhasini(Parent of Anjali - 1H) DIPSCOOP an e-magazine 2 The results of the events are as follows CLASS I 50 MT SPRINT (GIRLS) S. Estimates suggest that more than two-thirds Affairs of the country’s nearly 900 million eligible voters participated. The 545-seat Lok Sabha (People’s House) is seated every five years, and the results saw a return to power of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was chief minister of the west Indian state of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. With a mix of “feel good” messages, shout-outs to other celebrities, and well-timed ritualized responses, as well as a careful strategy of “followbacks” for a small selection of his most active followers, Modi has been able to grow his following dramatically especially since 2013. Twitter helps Modi directly reach a significant constituency of listeners, and use it as a channel to talk to the main stream media. In addition, the very appearance of his using social media effectively is in itself valuable in reshaping his public image as a technology-savvy leader, aligned with the aspirations of a new Indian modernity. Keywords Narendra Modi, Twitter, social media, politics, India, BJP, campaign, followback, new media, Facebook, NaMo, RSS The most “retweeted” and “favorited” message in India’s social media history came on May 15, 2014, when the handle @narendramodi tweeted “India has Won.” The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had come to power in elections with the biggest mandate in three decades, and Narendra Modi would be the next prime minister. The carefully phrased victory tweet congratulated the social media supporters who had for months been his online foot soldiers.
