  • Garters Are a Girl's Best Frienddecember 9, 2012
Garters Are A Girl’s Best FriendDecember 9, 2012 – Posted In: Understanding Her Diamonds? Isn’t that how the phrase goes? “Diamond’s are a girl’s best friend?” What about the little black dress? Heels? Hoop earrings? What other beauty cliches are there? And what do they mean? Sexy, right? Special, right? Beautiful. Here’s another cliche: To be sexy, you must feel sexy, right? Sexy is all about confidence. Cliches become cliches because they really are universal. There is truth to them. That little black dress is star power for any woman. Add hoop earrings to your daily wardrobe and you will instantly feel sexier. Diamonds are special. They make us feel special. And that also means that feeling sexy is about confidence. This sucks, right? Because not everyone has that confidence, or even knows how to fake it. So, how can you be and feel sexy? My answer: garter belt. Don’t laugh. Okay, well, laugh and then listen. I am an advocate of the garter belt. I hate panty hose. H-a-t-e them. They are uncomfortable. They are about as unsexy as they come. And they tear way too easily, while you struggle to put them on. Toss them. Seriously, do it. Toss them out. And invest instead in your own little gem. Your own little special diamond: a beautiful, sexy garter belt and silk stockings. There is nothing sexier that a woman puts on than what she puts on underneath everything else. The garter belt is the forgotten sex-goddess garment every woman needs, along with her heels, hoop earrings and little black dress.

In N.C., A Second Industrial Revolution - washingtonpost.com http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/02/AR... In N.C., A Second Industrial Revolution Biotech Surge Shows Manufacturing Still Key to U.S. Economy By Peter S. Goodman Washington Post Staff Writer Monday, September 3, 2007; A01 PITTSBORO, N.C. -- Until the late 1950s, the low-slung brick building in the center of this minuscule town was home to the Kayser-Roth hosiery mill. Some 400 workers tended to clattering looms, churning out pantyhose. "It was the best employer in town," said Nancy May, a former worker. The hosiery mill is gone now, along with much of the Carolina textile industry -- a casualty of the global reordering that has concentrated production in Asia and Latin America. But the old brick building is still here and still making products -- albeit modern varieties that could scarcely have been imagined a half-century ago: Today, the site is occupied by a biotechnology company, Biolex Therapeutics. Inside, 90 workers harness expensive laboratory equipment and a plant called duckweed, a bane to local ponds, to develop a drug for a serious liver ailment. Even the lowest-paid lab technician takes home far more than the seamstresses earned. If the start-up succeeds, its product will be substantially more lucrative than pantyhose. As lawmakers pursue legislation aimed at softening the blow from factory closures, and as the downside of trade emerges as a talking point in the 2008 presidential campaign, it might seem that manufacturing is a dying part of the U.S.

  • Nazareth Regional High School Mission Statement
NAZARETH REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT Nazareth RHS is a Catholic college preparatory high school sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. We maintain a rigorous academic environment where students develop a life-long intellectual curiosity which empowers them to think independently in an ever-changing global community. We provide unique opportunities that develop students’ spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth. Our scholars are prepared to be successful, contributing members of society. HISTORY OF NAZARETH REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL The first semester of the initial year of Nazareth High School was spent at the newly completed Bishop Kearney High School, since Nazareth’s building was yet unfinished. In the spring of 1963, Bishop Brian McEntegart dedicated the new building, and the first class of freshmen joined the small Nazareth faculty in moving into their own school. The Catholic people of Brooklyn had generously given millions of dollars to ensure the continuance of Catholic secondary education in the Diocese of Brooklyn. Brother John Olsen, C.F.X., served as first Principal from that year until 1966. He, and the other Xaverian Brothers and Catholic laymen who administered and staffed the new school, chose to center the goals of Nazareth around the theme “wisdom, age, and favor with God” because these were the qualities of Jesus as described in Scripture as he grew up in the town of Nazareth. The first class of Nazareth Kingsmen graduated in June of 1966. Nazareth prospered in those years using new educational methods that characterized the school as a forward looking, progressive institution. In 1974, the Principal, Brother Mathew Burke, with the encouragement of Bishop Francis Mugavero, formed a new Catholic school governed by a Board of Trustees because the Diocese could no longer continue to subsidize the school.
