History & Restoration The Town Mill served Lyme for hundreds of years before closing down in the 1920s and falling into disrepair. By the 1990s it was derelict and earmarked for demolition. A group of local volunteers took over the buildings, and led a decade- long project to restore the MIll and its buildings.
