[http://www.tmbl.gu.se]. = Enoplostoma hirtum Marion,1870 (™ of Enoplostoma Marion,1870 - Mediterranean) Scotland, S Britain, Mediterranean, Black Sea Denotations: (™) = "Genotype" @ = Association * = General note E. schulzi Gerlach,1952 = Ruamowhitia orae Yeatee,1967 N.B.: This is one of several preliminary check-lists, covering S. Scandinavian marine animal (and partly marine = Ruamowhitia halopila Guirado,1975 protoctist) taxa. Some financial support from (or via) NKMB (Nordiskt Kollegium för Marin Biologi), during the last Kieler Bucht, S Britain, Biscay, Mediterranean years of the existence of this organisation (until 1993), is thankfully acknowledged. The primary purpose of these E. serratus Ditlevsen,1926 checklists is to facilitate for everyone, trying to identify organisms from the area, to know which species that earlier Iceland have been encountered there, or in neighbouring areas. A secondary purpose is to facilitate for non-experts to find as correct names as possible for organisms, including names of authors and years of description. So far these checklists E. sphaericus Kreis,1928 are very preliminary. Due to restricted access to literature there are (some known, and probably many unknown) Barents Sea omissions in the lists. Certainly also several errors may be found, especially regarding taxa like Plathelminthes and Nematoda, where the experience of the compiler is very rudimentary. The credibility of some other lists, containing E. stenodon Dujardin,1845 taxa like e.g. Porifera, where, at least in certain subtaxa, taxonomic confusion seems to prevail, is certainly also * Sp. inq. suboptimal so far. Engl. Channel Species found in South Scandinavia, as well as from neighbouring areas, chiefly the British Isles, have been considered, as some of them may show to have a slightly more northern distribution, than what is known today. E. tridentatus Dujardin,1845 (™ - Engl. Channel / Mediterranean) However, species with a typical Lusitanian distribution, with their northern distribution limit around France or * Sp. inq. Engl. Channel, Scotland, Mediterranean Southern British Isles, have as a rule been omitted here, albeit a few species with probable norhern limits around the British Isles are listed here until distribution patterns are better known. Arctic Taxa, known only from areas north of Thoracostomopsidae Filipjev,1927 N Norway are probably not as well represented in this list as they should be, because they were not initially intended to be covered by these lists. The probability is high that some new taxa, described recently from the area, have been Thoracostomopsinae Filipjev,1927 inadvertently omitted. I am fully aware of the incompleteness of the lists, but for the moment I cannot advance much further because of limited local library resources and lack of time, because of other duties. The compiler would be Thoracostomopsis Ditlevsen,1918 very grateful for every correction of presumptive lapses and omittances an initiated reader could make. The system of Lorenzen,1981 (& Platt & Warwick 1983 & 1988 (SBF(NS) 28 & 38)) is used as a "skeleton" of the T. barbata Ditlevsen,1918 (™ - Danish Belt Sea) free-living taxa in this list. This "skeleton" is just one of several alternative schemes, which all hopefully continously Kieler Bucht, L. Bælt, Trondheim, Helgoland, North Sea will change to more parsimonial structures as knowledge about the taxa involved is growing. Scandinavian species are lacking for many of the listed genera. Denotations about type species and type localities have chiefly been copied T. ditlevseni Filipjev,1927 from Gerlach & Riemann, 1973 & 1974. Barents Sea N.B.
