A number of revisions affecting every facet of the company’s operations both on and off stage were required, including debuting the 2020–2021 Season offerings in February 2021, with an attenuated three-production statewide schedule between February 5, and April 25, 2021. Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto, formerly the company’s lead-off October 2020 production, will not be performed; Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance will be rescheduled from November 2020 to April 2021; and the VO season will now begin in February 2021 with the change of a double bill featuring Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine and Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi performed in place of Jennifer Higdon and Gene Scheer’s Cold Mountain. -

Buckingham, le 27 avril 2016 – Après avoir remporté les honneurs de tout le Québec, l’équipe de l’ESTacade est fière d’annoncer que l’Ouragan Stéphanie St-Jean viendra célébrer le 25 e anniversaire de Buckingham en Fête le 20 octobre 2016 au Parc Maclaren. Rappelons que l’artiste est venue au monde au 100 e de Buckingham et à l’année de naissance de la corporation Buckingham en Fête. En plus d’ouvrir la 25 e édition du festival nouvellement modifié en thématique d’Halloween, de souligner cette date anniversaire, L’ESTacade procèdera, sur les lieux, au couronnement de la princesse-ouragan devenu, sans l’ombre d’un doute, la Reine de Buckingham et du Québec. Un spectacle de remerciements : Stéphanie St-Jean désirait remercier les gens de la collectivité qui ont cru en son potentiel tout au long de l’aventure. Lors de ce spectacle, elle fera un clin d’œil à ceux et celles qui l’ont connu lorsqu’elle chantait dans tous les coins de la région avant d’être couronnée Reine et un autre clin d’œil à sa nouvelle carrière. Un spectacle unique qui réserve de nombreuses surprises dont la participation d’un groupe vocal de la région. La bouche scène de chanson d’air actuelle salle paul-fort Nantes édito Fiers et tremblants e reprends volontiers à notre compte le titre du spectacle de Loïc Lantoine J et de Marc Nammour pour vous dire qu’en ce mois de septembre, nous nous sentons « Fiers et tremblants ». Fiers de la « flamme » que nous avons entretenue avec votre complicité pendant ces longs mois de fermeture pandémique, en accueillant de nombreux artistes pour des séances de travail intenses… Tremblants à l’idée de devoir à nouveau faire face à une situation que nous ne voulons plus revivre. Alors, c’est avec l’enthousiasme et la distance nécessaire (s’attendre à l’inattendu), que nous vous proposons cette nouvelle saison. Elle s’est construite pour partie avec des reports de spectacles que nous sommes impatients de vous faire partager. Nous avons aussi souhaité pouvoir accueillir de jeunes artistes qui ont été particulièrement fragilisés ces derniers mois. Notre pays peut s’enorgueillir d’avoir créé et pérennisé jusqu’à ce jour un régime d’assurance chômage unique, l’intermittence, élément de notre exception culturelle à la française qui permet aux artistes et techniciens du spectacle vivant d’alterner sereinement travail de recherche, et représentations devant des publics. Engagés à leur côté nous saurons vous alerter si ce « régime » devait être remis en cause dans les mois qui viennent. ART Jordan Casteel Whether perched pensively atop a skateboard or on a folding chair next to a stand of glass- ware, the subjects of Jordan Casteel’s paintings feel preternaturally present. They are almost always black men, and their intimate imme- diacy belies the fact that Casteel, 29, has often just met them while walking through New York, where she lives. She introduces herself, asks them to pose, and takes as many as a hundred photos, which she whittles down to a handful to use as she works. The resulting paintings, as seen most recently in “Nights in Harlem,” her 2017 show at Casey Kaplan gallery, combine Alice Neel’s psychological acuity with August Sander’s sharp eye for quotidian detail. Having garnered attention for exhibitions at the Studio Museum in Harlem and Mass MoCA, the Yale- trained artist is set to have her first museum survey, in February 2019, in her hometown, at the Denver Art Museum. Though her paint- ings are about real people and real life, they are never mere transpositions. PRESS RELEASE For immediate release QUEBECOR FUND ANNOUNCES LIST OF PRODUCERS FUNDED UNDER ITS TELEVISION PRODUCTION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND EXPORT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Montréal, December 4, 2018 - The Quebecor Fund Board of Directors today announced the names of the Canadian production companies that will receive funding in the 37th round of the Fund’s Television Production Assistance Program following October 1, 2018 submissions. In this round, the Fund will disburse a total of more than $1.9 million. Of that amount, nearly $825,000 is being granted under the Support for Convergent Production component to the following producers: Productions Version 10 inc. / Happy Camper Media, PVP Animation IV (2018) inc. (Groupe PVP inc.), and La Voix Télévision inc. (Les Productions Déferlantes inc.). The three selected productions will air on the Canadian broadcasters ICI Radio-Canada, TFO, CBC, TV5 Québec Canada, and TVA Group. Under the Support for the Creation of Intellectual Property component, nearly $1.1 million is being granted to five projects from Productions Pixcom inc., Oasis Animation inc., DATSIT Sphère inc., Duo Productions inc., and Blachfilms. The broadcasters supporting the development of these projects are TVA Group, AMI, ICI Radio- Canada, TFO, Bell Media (Canal Vie), and Télé-Québec. Since its inception in 1999, Quebecor Fund’s Television Production Assistance Program has supported 267 projects involving 82 production companies, 46 Canadian broadcasters and 34 foreign broadcasters with grants totalling nearly $81 million. Under the Convergent Production component, Quebecor Fund has distributed more than $68.4 million to support the multiplatform side of the funded projects (which accounts for 72% of the total sums invested in multimedia by the participating production companies) and more than $7.8 million to support the television side of the same projects, for a total of more than $76.2 million. -

Le Maximum Blues mettait l’accent, comme son nom l’indique, sur le blues. Dans le cas de BleuBleu, la programmation présentera des artistes de divers styles issus de la scène musicale émergente québécoise. «Il y aura plusieurs genres musicaux; on ira avec les propositions intéressantes. Il n’y a pas de ligne directrice», précise Justice Guay, porte-parole de BleuBleu. Ses partenaires sont Anne- Julie Saint-Laurent, la comédienne Myriam-Sophie Deslauriers et Marianne Boudreau, qui gère les événements pour la micro-brasserie le Naufrageur. Il y aura flexibilité quant aux lieux de diffusion, qui sont nombreux à Carleton en raison de son caractère touristique et culturel. «Il y a des types de musique qui seront choisis selon les lieux», note MmeGuay. BleuBleu ne remplace pas le Maximum Blues, insiste-t-elle. «Il prend plutôt un espace avec une proposition complètement nouvelle.» «Être en région a aidé à convaincre SiriusXM que notre mission pouvait s’allier à leur mission de promouvoir la musique. Sirius est déjà bien présent à Montréal, mais moins dans les régions», dit Mme Guay.
