SAR rescued the subject and transferred to BCAS. 27 15:37 SWE INLAND 2 2 13 Ridge Meadows SAR responded to Pitt Lake to 210327 WATER search for two missing canoeists. SAR was stood down as the subjects were located. 27 17:33 NEA INLAND 2 3 2 3 Mackenzie SAR members and 2 convergent 210328 WATER volunteers responded to a boat aground on in Mackenzie. SAR team stood down by RCMP as a false alarm. 29 15:21 SEA LAND 1 8 1 8 Nelson SAR members responded to an injured 210345 mountain biker in the Nelson area. SAR team was stood down as subject was able to get to the ambulance. 29 13:25 CTL LAND 1 1 Princeton SAR member responded to a BCAS 210346 request for assistance with a vehicle down an embankment. The vehicle was empty. SAR was stood down. 29 15:47 SWE LAND 1 3 1 3 Whistler SAR responded to a young adult with a 210347 leg cramp on Garibaldi Lake Trail. SAR was stood down as subject was able to walk out. 29 15:20 VIR LAND 1 9 1 9 Alberni Valley Rescue members responded to an 210348 overdue hiker at Mercs Lake. Subject returned home in good condition. 29 16:44 SWE LAND 1 3 1 3 Sunshine Coast members responded to assist a 210349 male who became lost on Gambier Island. Subject and his wife were assisted by SAR team and talked through trails and reoriented using coordinates and a phone app. 29 17:01 CTL INLAND 1 4 1 4 Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue is 210350 WATER responding to a 70 Y/O female exhibiting stroke symptoms at a water access only cabin on Shuswap Lake Seymour Arm. Subject was airlifted to hospital in a BCAS helicopter. 29 17:18 SWE LAND 1 20 1 20 North Shore Rescue members responded to 210351 rescue a hiker who had slid down a hill on snow, sustaining minor injuries on Cypress Bowl. Subject was long lined out and handed to BCAS. 29 21:46 VIR INLAND 1 1 1 1 Port Alberni Rescue member responded to a 210352 WATER subject in the river in Port Alberni. RCMP confirmed the subject was clear of the water and SAR was stood down. 29 18:51 CTL INLAND 3 3 Kelowna Fire Department members responded to 210353 WATER a boat in distress in the Okanagan Lake. No distressed boaters found. 29 21:15 SWE LAND 2 14 2 14 Squamish SAR responded to 2 ill-equiped 210354 hikers in the Squamish area. Hikers were walked down to their cars. 29 23:38 SEA INLAND 1 7 1 7 Grand Forks SAR members responded to a 210355 WATER subject after she jumped into the Boundary Creek after an MVI. SAR rescued the subject, and transferred her to BCAS. 30 12:07 SWE INLAND 1 6 1 6 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to a 210356 WATER search for a driver that fled from RCMP at the near Aggasiz. Subject was located and handed off to RCMP. 30 12:09 SWE LAND 2 9 2 9 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to a 210357 search for two overdue UTV drivers in the vicinity of 20 Mile Bay at Harrison West Forest Service Road. SAR rescued the subject and transferred them to BCAS in good condition. 30 12:43 SWE LAND 1 11 1 11 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to 210359 assist in locating a male after he jumped out of the vehicle on Harrison East FSR between Sasquatch Park and Cochran Creek. Subject was located in good condition and handed over to RCMP 30 12:58 SWE INLAND 1 12 1 12 Vernon SAR members responded to assist 210360 WATER RCMP with a stranded kayaker near Cook Creek Rec Site. Subject was located alive and well. 15 14:57 CTL INLAND 69 65 Central Okanagan SAR and 4 Kelowna Marine 210246 WATER Rescue members responded to assist with the UPDATE search for a diver who did not surface on Okanagan Lake. Extensive searches have failed to locate the subject to date. Incident has been stood down. 30 16:44 SWE LAND 1 24 1 24 Squamish SAR members responded to a 210361 motocrosser with compound fractures on a FSR in Squamish. BCAS was able to access and transport the patient as SAR was arriving. 30 18:07 SWE LAND 1 14 1 14 Coquiltlam SAR members responded to an 210362 injured female on the Buntzen Lake Loop Trail in the Anmore area. MISCELLANEOUS

On 24 May 2021, a task was issued to Kitimat SAR so that a member could assist the Kitimat FD to transport gear to help fight a forest fire.

On 25 May 2021, ESS was issued a task number to cover 2 units condemned due to water damage in Chemainus First Nation.

On 27 May 2021, a task was issued for ESS to assess the residents of 4 condominium units evacuated due to risk of roof collapse in Okanagan Falls.

On 30 May 2021, a task was issued to MacKenzie Fire Department to respond to assist the Ambulance Service (BCAS) with a medical assist in the McLeod Lake area.

FLOODING

On May 24th, an incident was created to support Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) response to flooding, an evacuation alert has been issued for 229 properties, as a result of a massive rain event forecasted for the area.

On May 28th an incident was created to support Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) response to flooding in Olalla, electoral area G. 13 properties affected, no evacuation order issued at this time.
