The Guilty Gear Xrd was designed using Unreal Engine 3, with cel-shaded graphics instead of a series of traditional hand-drawn sprites. Following the storyline of the last game in the series, Guilty Gear 2: Overture, it introduced seven new characters. The first Xrd game, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, was released in arcades on February 20, 2014 as the 5th main installment, as well as for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan and North America in December of that year. Digital-only release took place in Europe in June 2015, and it was delivered to Microsoft Windows via Steam on December 9, 2015. The game has been praised for its cel-shaded graphics and accessible gameplay, but has been criticized for its non-interactive story mode and smaller list of characters. The sequel, titled Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, was released on consoles in May-June 2016 as the 6th main installment. The title update -REVELATOR- titled Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 was announced at the Arc System Works Fighting Game Award 2016 on January 14, 2017 and released for Arcades in March 2017, while the PS3, PS4 and PC versions were released worldwide at the end of May 2017. The Rev 2 patch update for those who bought -REVELATOR- on the PlayStation Store or Steam has been released as a paid DLC. PS4 also received an exclusive physical Disk. Gameplay See also: Gameplay in Gear Series This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. (May 2015) The game uses a mock-up of six buttons: five of which are responsible for attacks: kick, punch, slash, heavy slash and dust, and the other for taunting or respecting another player. There are several other methods that start when two or three buttons are pressed at the same time. (quote is necessary) The splash sensor fills up over time or when the player takes damage; Once the sensor is full, the player can perform a psychological explosion to move away from the enemy. It releases an explosion of energy, which, if it successfully gets into the enemy, fully charges another sensor, the voltage sensor. The voltage sensor allows the player to perform some other special attacks. The game has four main modes: network mode, practice mode, combat mode and history mode. The first allows online matches through PlayStation Network (PSN), which can be ranked in the world rankings. The practice regime has a regular training regime, a training regime that teaches basic commands, a mission mode that simulates combat situations, and a call mode that focuses on performing combos. Battle Mode mode includes an arcade mode that reveals part of the game's history after the player defeats eight opponents; Against a mode in which a player can have offline fights with the second player or against the processor; and the M.O.M. special mode M.O.M., which is an acronym for Medal of Millionaires, is a variation of the usual survival mode in which a player earns performance-based medals and improves with the progression of the system. The latest Guilty Gear Xrd mode is Story Mode, which is new in the current release. This mode presents the full story of the game as a movie, as the animation is divided into several chapters, for continuous viewing. The viewer can pause the film at any time to explore the glossary of game terms and story devices that are described in library mode. (quote needed) Summary Plot This section needs to be expanded. You can help by adding to it. (May 2015) The game is set in 2187, a year after its predecessor, Guilty Gear 2: Overture. Starting with the storyline - SIGN-, the first part is set in arcade mode through each character's own storyline, and focuses on the arc of The Valentine's Ramletal, while the second part of the storyline is set after the storyline of the arcade mode on the console version, focusing on the post-capture of Ramletal in the conclave and the arc of Justice, as well as serving as the beginning of Valentine's Elphelt. Later in -REVELATOR-/REV 2, the storyline now focuses on the Elphelt Valentine and Jack-O arc with the final chapter of the story mode - SIGN on the console version. Additional story line REV 2 for the completed epilogue of history -REVELATOR. Characters See also: List of guilty Gear Gear and Guilty_Gear - Playable_characters the arcade version of the game was originally featuring thirteen playable characters. Saul Badguy, Ky Kiske, Millie Fury, May, Chipp Sanuff, Potemkin, Venom, Axl Low, I-No, Faust, Slayer, and The Nato-1 return from the previous parts, while one new character, Bedman, has been added. The game also features a new boss character known as Ramletal Valentine, who has been added to the game list in the arcades through an update. In addition, console versions add Sin Kiske from Overture, and new characters Elfelt Valentine and Leo Whitefang as DLC game characters, bringing the total number of rosters to 17. Exclusive characters from Sin, Elphelt and Leo were added to the arcade version along with balance changes on March 19, 2015. The sequel, -REVELATOR-, made a change in balance and added Johnny, who was unplayable in the story mode -SIGN, and a new female character named Jack O'Valentine. Along with the return of Jama Kuradoberi as a playable character, REVELATOR also gives newcomer Sign Elfelt a more sombre view of the goals of history. Another returning character, Dizzy, was also added to the playlist as a result of a fan vote conducted by Arc System Works, defeating Bridget and Bakeken in a close race, with a total of 32,990 votes. The new character presented in -REVELATOR-, Kum Haehyun, who does not play in the arcade version, has been announced as the DLC character for the console version. Raven from Guilty Gear 2: Overture is the latest of six new additions to the sequel -REVELATOR. On the other hand, Baiken is back as a playable in an updated version -REVELATOR - called REV 2, and then a new character who is the chief officer of Chipp zanaff, Answer. The development of the new version of Guilty Gear began in 2008, but production began only in 2011. By mid-2012, the game, later known as The Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN, had progressed to full-scale production, which was completed in 2013, and was handled by a team of 25 people at Arc System Works codenamed Team Red. The show's creator Daisuke Isiwatari returned to lead the project. The team decided to use Unreal Engine 3 because of several factors that they believed helped their workflow; low price, the ease with which non-programs can edit projects directly, and development tools for home consoles allowed them to release a headline on PlayStation consoles. Isiwatari sought to make the game as accessible as possible to newcomers, intending to make Xrd a new start on the franchise because the initial development was time-limited and budgeted, Andiwatari had to carefully choose which characters would be included in the original list for launch, knowing that he would be able to expand it later. factors that led to the original composition of the the variety of gameplay each character added, their role in the story, 28 popularity and balance. The first trailer was shown to the public during the annual Arc System Works festival on May 19, 2013. It demonstrated 3D attendees shaded models and environments, replacing traditional 2D sprites that were previously common for the series. It was expected that the game would have a visual impact, as a way of attracting new players and because of Isiwatari's assumption that this was a fundamental factor in the success of games such as Street Fighter 2 and Virtua Fighter 2. Using extensive 3D cutouts, which, according to the artist Junyi Christopher Motomura, gave a more dramatic perspective and were added to the special movements of the characters to demonstrate their work. These cutouts were achieved because the team pursued 3D technology while keeping the game as a 2D fighter, being able to use a rendering grid for backgrounds and special effects (although they kept some aspects, such as 2D, such as the cutscen background and distant characters).
