While the number ‘8’ carries a special significance, the custom packaging’s colours are also inspired by traditional Chinese symbolism: red is the symbol of auspiciousness; yellow/gold is the imperial colour and a symbol of supreme dignity. DESIGN:

The reverse design features the iconic Canadian Maple Leaf design as featured on the Royal Canadian Mint’s standard Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins.

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt, along with the text “ELIZABETH II”, the face value of the coin (“50 CENTS”) and the date “2016”.
