Submitted 3-5 proposals each year, including $2+ million in proposals during 2021, and have secured a $250k+ of extramural funding for scholarship, maintaining many collaborative relationships with numerous local schools, and also collaborative international scholarship. Shane R. Jimerson, PhD, VITA (June 2021) page 1 of 72 Shane R. Jimerson, PhD is a Professor in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Jimerson is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and recognized by The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress as a Board Certified Expert and Diplomat, and is included in their international registry of Experts in Traumatic Stress with specialization in working with children, families, and schools. Dr. Jimerson is currently the Editor-in-Chief of School Psychology Review, the Senior Editor for International Science for the School Psychology Journal (2017-2021), currently Past-President of the Society for the Study of School Psychology (2019-2021), was recently President of the International School Psychology Association (2013-2019), was recently President of Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (2011-2013) and was recently Editor of the School Psychology Quarterly Journal (2012-2016). His international professional and scholarly activities aim to advance and promote science, practice, and policy relevant to education and school psychology, in an effort to benefit children, families, and communities across the country and throughout the world. During the past couple of years, Dr. Jimerson has received numerous honors, including; an Award of Excellence for Distinguished Contributions to School Crisis Management from the National Association of School Psychologists, the Outstanding International Psychologist Award from the American Psychological Association, Division 52 (International Psychology), Outstanding Early Career Scholar Awards from both the American Education Research Association and the American Psychological Association, Division 16 (School Psychology), the Tom Oakland Distinguished Mid-Career Scholar Award from the American Psychological Association, Division 16 (School Psychology) and the Outstanding Trainer Award, from the Trainers of School Psychologists. LEADERSHIP. Dr. Jimerson currently serves on the UCSB Council for Planning and Budget and as the Gevirtz School Director of Academic Degree Program Development. Dr. Jimerson previously served as the Chair of the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and he has also previously served as the Associate Dean for Research for the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, and also as the Graduate Advisor for the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology. Dr. Jimerson has chaired and served on numerous boards and advisory committees at the state, national, and international levels, including; President of the Society for the Study of School Psychology (2019-2021, elect, president, past), President of the International School Psychology Association (2013- 2018, elect, president, past), President of Division 16 (School Psychology) American Psychological Association (2011-2013, elect, president, past), Vice President for Convention Affairs and Public Relations of Division 16 (School Psychology) American Psychological Association (2008-2011), Chair of the Research Committee of the International School Psychology Association (2000-present), Chair of the Division 16 (School Psychology) conference proceedings for the 2005 American Psychological Association conference, Chair of the 2005 Division 16 Lightner Witmer Award Committee, and Chair of the School Psychology Research Collaboration Conference (2003 and 2005). His service to Division 16 of the American Psychological Association resulted in him receiving Division 16 Outstanding Service Awards in 2005, 2010, 2013, and 2016. In addition, Dr. Jimerson received the President’s Award of Excellence from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) in 2006 for his contributions to the PREPaRE school crisis prevention and intervention curriculum. He currently serves as Editor for School Psychology Review, Senior Editor for International Science, for School Psychology Quarterly and has previously served as the Editor of School Psychology Quarterly, Editor of The California School Psychologist Journal, and previously was Associate Editor of School Psychology Review. He has also served on the editorial boards of the Journal of School Psychology, School Psychology Review, and School Psychology Quarterly and also provides professional reviews of manuscripts for Psychology in the Schools, Review of Educational Research, and Journal of Educational Psychology. His scholarly publications and presentations have provided insights regarding; developmental pathways of school success and failure, the efficacy of early prevention and intervention programs (grade retention among others), school psychology internationally, developmental psychopathology, and school crisis prevention and intervention. Among over 400 publications, including more than 30 books, he is the co-editor of School Safety and Violence Prevention: Science, Practice, and Policy (2018, American Psychological Association); he is the co-editor of Supporting Bereaved Students at School (2017, Oxford University Press); he is the lead-editor of The Handbook of School Violence and School Safety: International Research and Practice 2nd Edition (2012, 2006, Routledge), co-editor of Best Practices in School Crisis Prevention and Intervention 2nd Edition (2012, National Association of School Psychologists), lead-editor of The Handbook of Bullying in Schools: An International Perspective (2010, Routledge), The Handbook of International School Psychology (2007, SAGE Publishing), the lead editor of The Handbook of Response to Intervention: The Science and Practice of Assessment and Intervention (2016, 2007, Springer Science). He is the co-author of the book School Crisis Prevention and Intervention: The PREPaRE Model (2009, 2016, National Association of School Psychologists).
