LUDWIG SCOTTY PRESIDENT & MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR PUBLIC SERVICE -2- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No. 73 25th July 2007 Nauru ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ G.N.No. 266 / 2007 PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1998 SECTION 15 VACANCY Applications are invited from Nauruans, inside and outside the Public Service for temporary appointment, transfer or promotion to the following position: DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & MEDICAL SERVICES POSITION : PROJECT COORDINATOR SALARY : $ 300 FORTNIGHTLY (FIXED) DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT : TWO YEARS DUTIES: The project Coordinator will be responsible to the Ministry of Health and the local Nauruan Project Director through the Nauru Project Collaborator (Director of Public Health), and to the Diabetes Unit, and the University of Sydney. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Managing the project on a day to day basis and ensuring that all project tasks are completed in a timely manner in order to meet all contractual obligation; • Managing and implementing the policy and project direction set by the project Steering Committee and the local Project Management Committee; • Supervising the Project Support Officers on a day to day basis and coordinating the maintenance of patient record and database, the completion of patient complication screening and survey and the collection of additional data relevant to the various project phases; • Collating the data specific to the various project phases; • Maintaining regular and clear communication with the Project Director in Nauru and the Australian Project Manager and writing progress reports on the various project phases; • Communicating with key stakeholder in Nauru on a regular basis regarding the project implementation; • Overseeing and conducting the clinical care of diabetic patients and ensuring that all health workers in Nauru are managing diabetic patients according to establish clinical targets; • Developing clinical competencies regarding diabetes care for all levels of health workers, to be developed in consultation with local key stakeholders and the Australian collaborators; • Coordinating health worker training workshops; • Coordinating visits by the Australian Project and Clinical Teams; • Organising and attending local Project Management Committee Meetings; • Maintaining and providing financial records relating to expenditure for the project. QUALIFICATION: Should be an undergraduate diploma/certificate in a health discipline or other relevant studies in health discipline and training. OF POSITIONS : TWO SALARY : $ 215 FORTNIGHTLY (FIXED) DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT : TWO YEARS DUTIES: The Project Support Officer will be responsible to the Ministry of Health and the local Nauruan Project Coordinator through the Nauru Project Collaborator (Director of Public Health), the Diabetes Unit, and the University of Sydney. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assisting with meeting the contractual obligations by collecting and collating data relevant to the various phases of the project; • Administering patient surveys and maintaining patient records and database; • Communicating with the Project Coordinator in Nauru on a regular basis regarding progress on various project phases; • Assisting with coordinating the visits of the Australia Project and Clinical Teams; • Providing Secretarial support for the local Project Management Committee. CAMILLA SOLOMON CHIEF SECRETARY -4- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No. 73 25th July 2007 Nauru ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ G.N.No. 268 / 2007 PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1998 SECTION 15 VACANCY Applications are invited from Nauruans inside and outside the Public Service for temporary appointment, transfer or promotion to the following position: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT & TELECOMMUNICATIONS (Civil Aviation) POSITION : Director of Civil Aviation SALARY : $ 7,450 p.a (7.2) DUTIES : • Proficient in establishing policies, plans programs reflective of national agendas (NSDS) regional transport principles, and Airport Operations; • To manage and maintain the daily administration of Civil Aviation operations; • Ensure standards of Airport Security and safety are complied in accordance with regional and international authorities; • Provide advice to national authorities regarding continuous safety and secure operations of Nauru Airport; • Ensure that relative legislative are complied with the implementation of safety and security programs; • Familiar in building capacity relative to training programs for Aviation staff; • Ensure compliance with the Civil Aviation Legislation of the Republic including measures to ensure operations of aircraft are of standard required by international and regional laws; • Management of runaway and perimeter; • Ensure effective and efficient services such as: a) Rescue & Fire management b) Air Traffic c) Airport Security d) Airport Maintenance & Airport Cleanliness QUALIFICATION: • Must have a minimum of 5 years in aviation management experience. • Must have technical expertise and relevant certification in managing Airport safety and security audit compliances. • Certificate in aviation management would be preferred. • Knowledge in airport operation and/or airline operations. • Must be computer literate. • Proficient in the English language both written and orally. • Able to work outside normal working hours.
