Situation in the EU dairy sector Daniel Dojlidko Polish Chamber of Milk The Polish Chamber of Milk • The Polish Chamber of Milk was established in 2008. We are the largest association representing dairy industry in Poland. • We have over than 60 members (most of them are dairy cooperatives). Dairies affiliated in Polish Chamber of Milk account for approximately 80% of Polish dairy market (taking into account turnover and milk collection). • We are members of international dairy associations like European Dairy Association (EDA) and International Dairy Federation (IDF). Areas of Chamber activity 1. Lobbying activities 2. Promotion and strengthening of Polish dairy industry 3. Internationalisation of Chamber activities 4. Improving qualifications of members of Chamber and dependent entities (trainings, conferences) Other activities of Polish Chamber of Milk: - representing interests of Chamber members in works of organs and institutions - distribution of current information connected with dairy sector among members of Polish Chamber of Milk - providing consultancy aid for members of our chamber - organisation of Dairy Cooperatives Ranking. EU Dairy Sector EU milk collection in January 2018 EU milk collection in January 2018 Milk collection - Main EU producers EU milk prices • EU average milk price in February 2018 amounted to 34,5 EUR/100 kg. The highest price is reported in Cyprus (54,9 EUR/100 kg) and the lowest in Latvia (28,2 EUR/100 kg). • Prices among TOP EU milk producers (per 100 kg): Germany (34,9 EUR), France (35 EUR), UK (32,6 EUR), the Netherlands (35,8 EUR), Italy (36 EUR) and Poland (33 EUR). EU dairy export to Mexico 16th Dairy Cooperatives Forum 26-28 September 2018, Serock (Poland) • The Dairy Cooperatives Forum (DCF) is the largest conference of the dairy industry in Central and Eastern Europe. • This year it will be held for the sixteenth time. The forum provides an opportunity to with meet the most important European officials and the largest players in the European dairy industry. • Polish Chamber of Milk – longtime partner of the Dairy Cooperatives Forum. 16th Dairy Cooperatives Forum 26-28 September 2018, Serock (Poland) The next - 16th edition of the conference will include the following issues: - current state of the dairy sector in context of the implemented and planned policy; - the financial assumptions in the new financial perspective of CAP with particular reference to milk suppliers and processors. The opportunities and threats; - protecting and supporting mechanisms of farmers and processors incomes; - opportunities created by domestic and EU investment funds and stabilisation packages for the sector. 16th Dairy Cooperatives Forum 26-28 September 2018, Serock (Poland) The next, sixteenth edition will be held on 26-28 September 2018 in Hotel Narvil Conference & Spa in Serock (near to Warsaw, Poland).
