Parents or guardians and 4-H Rodeo Contestants must sign the following consent: We, the parents or guardians and 4-H Rodeo Contestants having read the rules and complete entry, here with consent to the contestants participating in the 4-H Rodeo on the above date, at Highmore, South Dakota, and do hereby release the 4-H Rodeo Committee and/or agents from any or all liability for damages what so ever that may occur to the 4-H Rodeo Contestant or the 4-H Rodeo Contestant’s horse or equipment, while competing in said rodeo or while en route to and from the rodeo grounds.

1. State 4-H Rodeo Rules will be used. If new rules have been added, it is the contestant’s responsibility to learn the new rules.

2. Please bring your back number, which was assigned to you by the state. If you forget it, there may be a FEE to receive another number.

3. If you enter the team roping, you MUST list the name of the header and heeler. There will be no choosing partners or changing partners after entry blanks are sent in. Please make sure if you sign up with a partner he or she is entering the Rodeo.

4. Eligibility: The Hyde/Hand 4-H Rodeo is open to any bonafide 4-H member having either 4-H Rodeo insurance or other adequate insurance coverage.

5. First place awards will be awarded in each event. A point system will be used to determine the All-Around Champion winners. Awards will be given to the All-Around and Cowgirl in each division. Second, third and fourth place awards will be presented.

6. Contestants will be disqualified if parents harass the judge.

7. Contestants will be called for twice before they will be passed by. Be ready, unless obligated in the other arena.

8. No liquor will be permitted on the grounds.

9. Rodeo will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday. With the office opening at 8am not any earlier. NO letters will be sent out to notify you of your entry.

10. NO LATE ENTRIES. Entry blanks will be returned if not completed fully and have no money enclosed. You will be notified if not accepted in an event. NO ENTRIES WILL BE REFUNDED.

12. There will be no Ambassador Contest.

State Finals Rodeo Entry Contestants are responsible to read and follow the General Information on Finals Entry Forms and the Ground Rules pertaining to the 4-H Finals Rodeo. All contestants qualifying for the 4-H Finals Rodeo (by finishing in the top 4 places at a Regional/County 4H Rodeo) are automatically entered. If a contestant does not wish to enter the finals or has event/events that they wish to not enter, then they will have to notify the Finals secretary by e-mailing [email protected] and mail a paper copy of written notification
