Saints WR-Corp Füllt Sich Vor Partie Gegen Bucs Saints WR-Corp füllt sich vor Partie gegen Bucs Pünktlich zum wichtigen Playoff Spiel gegen die Tampa Bay Buccaneers, füllen sich die Reihen der Widereceiver im Team der New Orleans Saints wieder. Bereits in der letzten Woche konnten Star-Receiver Michael Thomas und Deonte Harris von der IR-Liste wieder aktiviert werden. Am Samstag, einen Tag vor dem Playoff Spiel gegen die Bucs, kommt nun auch Tre’Quan Smith zurück ins Team. Smith verpasste die letzten drei Spiele mit einer Knöchelverletzung, konnte jedoch in dieser Woche wieder ins Training zurückkehren. Tre’Quan Smith markierte in dieser Saison einen Karrierehöchstwert von 34 Passfänge für 448 Yards und 4 Touchdowns in 14 Spielen. Doch besonders seine Fähigkeiten als zusätzlicher Blocker in der Spielfeldlänge, machen den 6’2″ großen und 210lbs schweren Receiver zu einem wichtigen Puzzleteil für die Saints Offense. Mit den genesenen Michael Thomas, Deonte Harris und Tre’Quan Smith kann Drew Brees, pünktlich zum Duell der Veteranen mit Tom Brady, wieder auf wichtige Anspielstationen zurückgreifen. Verzichten müssen die Saints auf ihren Backup G/C Will Clapp, welcher nach einem positiven Covid-19 Test am Samstag auf die Reserve/Covid-19 Liste gesetzt wurde. Neben Clapp wurde am Samstag kein weiterer Spieler auf die gefürchtete Reserve/Covid-19 Liste gesetzt. Für Will Clapp nominierten die New Orleans Saints G/C Cameron Tom aus dem Practice Squad nach und zogen ihn ins aktive Roster. Ebenfalls vom Practice Squad ins aktive Roster geht es für Linebacker Chase Hansen. Nach den Nominierungen aus dem Practice Squad, ergeben sich folgende weitere Anpassungen: Practice Squad/Zugefügt: Blair Walsh (K), John Denney (LS) Practice Squad/Entlassen: Tommylee Lewis (WR), Anthony Zettel (DE).
