What began as an eight-team tournament at Pine Ridge has evolved into a 32-team event of wide-ranging cultural significance. While basketball remains a focal point, LNI week also includes such other meaningful activities as a powwow, educational workshops, cheerleading competitions, a knowledge bowl, an art show and a Lakota language bowl.
