UNION ORGANISER Wellington/Dunedin E tū is New Zealand’s largest private-sector union. We represent, organise and campaign with working people across Aotearoa New Zealand. We currently have vacancies for Union Organiser positions based in both Wellington and Dunedin office covering the Otago area. This very rewarding role involves working alongside E tū union members and working people to organise and advocate for a better, fairer experience at work and in society. The focus of the role may change over time between advocacy, organising and campaigning, depending on the needs of the union and a personal development plan. The role involves supporting and developing workplace and community leaders to build collective power. This role requires a person with strong social justice principles, energy and the confidence to advocate on behalf of members Previous experience as a union delegate/organiser or advocate in another campaigning organisation is an advantage. All organising staff develop and work to clear plans to achieve the Union’s goals. Training is provided. Applicants must be self-motivated, able to work independently within a dynamic team and have a strong commitment to working people and the union movement.
