I cherish the, honor of being Chaplain of asadaLodge. ,T-^ Rabbi Laszlo Brkowits k BNAI BRITH BREAKFAST Bnai Brith Masada Lodge, is sponsoring a Lox and Bagel breakfast for the Temple membership on Sunday, 16 January 1983 at 8:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Professor Avner Yaniv, Director of the Institute for Middle Eastern Studies and Chairman of the Jewish-Arab Center at Haifa Un- ersity. Professor Yaniv, who is presently Visiting Professor at Georgetown University, will discuss Israels current problems, both internal and. exta1, and the prospects for peace in the near future. For the convenience of parent-chauffeurs, breakfast will be served beqinning . at 8:30 a.m. and the discussion is planned for 10-11 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $2.75 per person, and the whole family is invited to join in this traditional feast and be briefed on issues of great interest to all of us. C. The entire community is urged to attend. BLOODMOBILE VISIT On Sunday morning, November 21st, the Red Cross held a Bloodmobile at our Temple. Although we didnt quite make our quota, we came closer than ever before. Our goal was 40 pints of blood and we collected 31 pints. There were 11 people who were deferred and about 6 others were unable to come because of illness. Thanks to all of you who came and even tried to give, to Norma Dektcr for graciously donating and preparing food, for the workers, and to thoso who worked at the Bloodmobile: Helen and Jane Podell, Margaret Schoenfeld, Shirley Littman, use Bernstein, Jackie Goldman, Rene Perlstei, veyn Branfeld, and Esther Davis. He was arrested, February 24, 1975 and tried March 31, 1975, charged with "Disturbing Public order", ar:d serences to five years in exile. He is out of prison but unable to leave Russia.
