The Admission Office is open Monday through Friday with guided tours offered daily by appointment. Please call (216) 795‐3107 to schedule an appointment. Travel Instructions The Cleveland Institute of Music is approximately five miles directly east of downtown Cleveland, off Euclid Avenue, at the corner of East Boulevard and Hazel Drive. Cleveland Institute of Music 11021 East Boulevard Cleveland, OH 44106 Switchboard: 216.791.5000 | Admissions: 216.795.3107 If traveling from the east or west on Interstate 90, exit the expressway at Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive south to East 105th Street. Cross East 105th and proceed counterclockwise around the traffic circle, exiting on East Boulevard. CIM will be the third building on the left. Metered visitor parking is available on Hazel Drive. If traveling from the east on Interstate 80 or the Pennsylvania Turnpike, follow the signs on the Ohio Turnpike to Exit 187. Leave the Turnpike at Exit 187 and follow Interstate 480 West, which leads to Interstate 271 North. Get off Interstate 271 at Exit 36 (Highland Heights and Mayfield) and take Wilson Mills Road, westbound, for approximately 7.5 miles (note that Wilson Mills changes to Monticello en route). When you reach the end of Monticello at Mayfield Road, turn right onto Mayfield Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Drive two traffic lights beyond the overpass at the bottom of Mayfield Hill and into University Circle. At the intersection of Euclid Avenue, proceed straight through the traffic light and onto Ford Road, just three short blocks from the junction of East Boulevard.

Jacob Enders (’23), a CCLCM student lead, says the goal of UltraFest was to provide medical students with point-of-care ultrasound experiences, an emerging care paradigm involving the use of ultrasound at the bedside for rapid clinical decision-making, triaging and treatment. “This goal was achieved when an attendant at the MSK station expressed to me – almost in a moment of relief – that he now understands what the carpal tunnel is and why it’s so easy to have a pressure buildup there,” says CCLCM student co-lead Derrick Obiri-Yeboah (‘24). Having recognized the relatively restricted space of the tendons and nerve in carpel tunnel of the wrist during the scan of a model helped him understand how carpal tunnel syndrome develops.

    THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART LANDSCAPE MASTER PLAN DECEMBER 2018 LANDSCAPE MASTER PLAN The rehabilitation of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s grounds requires the creativity, collaboration, and commitment of many talents, with contributions from the design team, project stakeholders, and the grounds’ existing and intended users. Throughout the planning process, all have agreed, without question, that the Fine Arts Garden is at once a work of landscape art, a treasured Cleveland landmark, and an indispensable community asset. But the landscape is also a complex organism—one that requires the balance of public use with consistency and harmony of expression. We also understand that a successful modern public space must provide more than mere ceremonial or psychological benefits. To satisfy the CMA’s strategic planning goals and to fulfill the expectations of contemporary users, the museum grounds should also accommodate as varied a mix of activities as possible. We see our charge as remaining faithful to the spirit of the gardens’ original aesthetic intentions while simultaneously magnifying the rehabilitation, ecological health, activation, and accessibility of the grounds, together with critical comprehensive maintenance.     UNIVERSITY NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN SUMMARY Description. The University neighborhood encompasses two of Cleveland’s most well known places, University Circle and Little Italy. University Circle came into being in the 1880s with the donation of 63 acres of wooded parkland to the City by financier Jeptha Wade, one of the creators of Western Union. “Little Italy.” was established in the late 1800s by Italian immigrants who settled there for lucrative employment in the nearby marble works. The dense housing in Little Italy represents the largest residential area in the neighborhood. There are a few other isolated streets of residential and student housing located in the neighborhood. The majority of the land in the neighborhood is either institutional use or park land. Assets. University is home to many institutions that are not only assets to the neighborhood but the region as well. Hexter, and Nick Downer Cities are increasingly turning to their “anchor” institutions as drivers of economic development, harnessing the power of these major economic players to benefit the neighborhoods where they are rooted. This is especially true for cities that are struggling with widespread poverty and disinvestment. Ur- ban anchors­­—typically hospitals and universities—have some- times isolated themselves from the poor and struggling neigh- borhoods that surround them. But this is changing. Since the late 1990s, as population, jobs, and investment have migrated outward, these “rooted in place” institutions are becoming a key to the long, hard work of revitalization. In Cleveland, the Greater University Circle Initiative is a unique, multi-stake- holder initiative with a ten-year track record. What is the “se- cret sauce” that keeps this effort together? Walter W. Wright is the Program Manager for Economic Inclusion at Cleveland State. Kathryn W. Hexter is the Director of the Center for Community Planning and Development of Cleveland State University’s Levin College of Urban Affairs. Aside from providing great patient care both at our main campus and satellite locations, I’m so very happy to share with you the news that MetroHealth is the proud recipient of a $2.6 million grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research. This grant designates MetroHealth as a Spinal Cord Injury Model System and a national leader in spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation - only 14 centers nationwide have received this funding. For the ninth consecutive year, the Comprehensive Stroke Center at MetroHealth has earned the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®- Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award for performance and quality, with its second consecutive Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus recognition. It’s no surprise that the entire country is plagued by an opiate addiction epidemic. The impact this terrible disease has had on the lives of the victims’ families, friends, and the community in general is astronomical. The death rate is alarming: seven people died from drug overdoses in Cuyahoga County in one day alone, prompting the county's medical examiner to issue a public health warning. Fifty-two drug overdose deaths occurred in August, the highest number in any given month for the county. MetroHealth’s emergency room physician and medical director of Project DAWN, a community-based overdose education and naloxone distribution program, is being featured in a CNN five-part series on the epidemic.
