The Ordination and Consecration of the Reverend Sandra Ruth Fyfe As
The Ordination and Consecration of the Reverend Sandra Ruth Fyfe as a Bishop in the Church of God and her Installation as the 17th Bishop of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island The Feast of St. Andrew November 30, 2020 7:00 pm The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Halifax, Nova Scotia The Anglican Church of Canada Ecclesiastical Province of Canada The Anglican Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Please note The Medical Director of Nova Scotia was given a copy of our plan for this modified service of Consecration and Installation, including our health and safety measures, and we have his approval to proceed according to that plan. We are upholding all of the provincial regulations that apply to faith-based gatherings in this area as of this date according to Dr. Strang’s direction. The worship space for this liturgy is considered to be the transept. No more than five people will be present in this space at any one time. The music ensemble/choir is a small family “bubble” and are always at least 60 feet away from those gathered at the Cathedral. They will sing the hymns and lead the litany and sung parts of the liturgy. Please follow all public health guidelines regarding congregational singing. You may sing softly while wearing masks and while observing 6 feet of distance from one another unless you are in a bubble with others. Those gathered at the Cathedral are asked to sing only the Offertory Hymn. Videographers are at least 30 feet from the congregation. A photographer, when present, is at least 20 feet away from the congregation. -
Part 4 – Reports of Vision Strategy and Support Teams (VSST's), Committees and Organizations
Diocese of NS and PEI, 146th Session of Synod (Synod 2015), Part 4 of the Convening Circular Part 4 – Reports of Vision Strategy and Support Teams (VSST’s), Committees and Organizations Report of the Executive Secretary of Synod My appointment as Executive Secretary of Synod, a part time position, commenced on 1 December 2014. I succeeded the Rev Debra Burleson and, before her, Pam Barkhouse. This is my first Synod as Executive Secretary, although I had the pleasure of attending Synod 2013 and the Electoral Synod of 2013 as a lay delegate. The last five months have been exciting and challenging. My orientation was made much easier because of the warm welcome received from all Diocesan staff; everyone has been most helpful. I would like to thank Rev Debra, Rev Canon Gordon, Jan Connors and Janice Roby, in particular, as they suffered most from my many questions! All of the logistical arrangements for Synod are done by the Synod Arrangements Committee, of which I am a member. My responsibilities with regard to Synod include the agenda, with Bishop Ron’s input, the convening circular, and the resolutions. I’m responsible for all aspects of Diocesan Council meetings, including the follow up of decisions made at Diocesan Council. I’m also a member of the Constitution and Canons Committee, and the Resolutions Committee. On behalf of the Bishop, I would like to recognize the hard work and dedication of the various committees who make preparing for Synod relatively painless: - Synod Arrangements Committee: members listed in Part 1, on page 4 of the Convening Circular - Resolutions Committee: Bishop Ron, James Travers, John Cooper, Rev Kees Zwanenburg and myself; and - Constitution and Canons Committee: James Travers, John Cooper, Anthony Chapman, Gordon Redden, Daphne Beeler and myself. -

THE New Facebook page! WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/ DIOCESAN TIMES DIOTIMES SUMMER 2013 A SECTION OF THE ANGLICAN JOURNAL Serving the Anglican Church in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island The Super Amazing Bible Camp of Awesomeness The Super Amazing Bible Camp of Awesomeness (SABCA) was an initiative of Revs. Ed Trevors & Nita Barteaux and supported by the South Shore Regional Council. They dreamed of having a youth event for children who did not meet the age criteria for DYC. For youth aged 6-12, the day began with 35-40 youth and a dozen youth leaders meeting at Holy Trinity, Bridgewater. The Camp was a reason for young Anglicans to get together, to have fun and to be exposed to Christian education. The drama component incorporated scripture and was applied to worship time at the end of the day. The games, crafts, face painting, drama, worship, meal fellowship and a scavenger hunt all fell under the theme of ‘Getting to Know You”. Getting to know one another, getting to know God, getting to know their church. Photos left: Using the Angry Birds launcher to test her skills.
