Th e other project supported by Th e Weyse Foundation is the current preparation of the fi rst-ever printed version of Peter Heise’s opera King and Marshal, managed by Th e Danish Centre for Music Publication (at Th e Royal Danish Library) in collaboration with the publisher Edition Samfundet. It is to be hoped that this extremely important edition will at last bring the national ‘grand opera’ of the Danes to the notice of a wider international audience. But over the past decade a host of other, less spectacular projects have also been supported, including scores by C.E.F. Weyse, Friedrich Kuhlau, J.P.E. Hartmann and Peter Heise, and CD recordings of music by these composers, Niels W. Gade, Peter Erasmus Lange-Müller and a number of live performances.
